How much liquor to buy?

So I’ve decided to do a wine and beer or maybe wine and vodka cranberry since I don’t ever recall my family drinking beer. But I’m totally up to close to 500 on drinks for 84 guest. I’ve read many alcohol calculators and know five glasses for one bottle of wine and times that by the hours in the reception and same for beer etc. but I don’t want to overspend and buy more than will be used. How can I cut the cost? I’ve seen many deals on Groupon for 15 bottles of wine for 43-63 bucks and I’ll definitely capitalize on those when the time comes. But as for beer or a signature drink is it absolutely necessary? Or can I stick to like 80 bottles of wine and get some 3 dollar cases of soda from target and 1.50 cases of water?

Honey do what fits u guys but I love the idea a signature drink Im doing blue long Island for ladies and jack and coke for guys also beer and wine my fam drinks lots of beer plus beer is easy

Costco is the best for bulk liquor/beer/wine.
For my sister's wedding, we ordered more on some types and ran out of beer. Honestly it's better to over order and if there's extra leftover you guys can drink it whenever needed later, it doesn't go bad.

In the community, I've heard of couples discussing how they purchased alcohol from a store who was willing to accept returns on sealed containers if it wasn't all drank. Perhaps this is something you could look into and find a store who would do something similar. At least then, if everything isn't drank, you can get some cash back
