how much is normal for a wedding cake estimate per slice?

I just passed by my local bakery and inquired how much it would be per slice for a naked cake with a few flower or berry embelliments. thus particular bakery is well known for its outstanding cakes and I knew it would be pricey but when she said $5/slice that sounded like a lot. considering venues are charging between .3 and 1$ cake slicing fee that's a $600 cake! does that seem right? I expected 350/400 eta: 350$/400$ for a cake for 100 people

$4-$6 is usually the average price per slice: naked cake or cake with fondant. I personally feel that's a bit of a rip off. The fondant and decoration is obviously the difficult part, since you're not having fondant I don't think I would pay more than $3 a slice. Does your venue offer a cake in your wedding package? You might be better off using their's. They should be able to do it!

Naked cakes have to be made super fresh and stored special to prevent drying out.
I don't think its unreasonable.

My area in DC, MD & VA is about $6-$9 a slice.

I'm paying $8.00 per slice but I'm also have alot of custom elements .

We are doing a small 2 tiered cake at 7.50/slice and then mini cakes and tarts, and macarons. Total of $300 for 65 people.

In socal cakes start at $7/slice and just get more expensive from there.
