How much does the average person spend on their wedding?

I'm trying to set up a budget but I'm not sure how to figure out the price that we can afford for our wedding.

My FH and I made a 20K budget even though we know it's going to be less than that. We having a medium size wedding, 75 invitees, 10 in our wedding party, and us totaling 87. But we told the venue, caterer, wedding planner, decorator and etc plan for 90 in total. I found my wedding party and even my wedding dress at a decent price which going to total maybe about less than 2,500 for everybody stuff and my FH said him and his groomsmen are renting their tux's. So it's all about sticking with your budget. GOOD LUCK!!

You'll need to figure out what you're comfortable spending and saving. Also, if anyone is helping you pay for the wedding, take that into consideration as well. Our wedding is in a really small town about an hour & a half from where we live. Mine & FH's parents are paying for everything, and it'll end up costing around $12k-$14k after everything is done. We were going to get married in our current town, but it would've been double-triple the cost.

We are trying to stick around 20K, but its looking like this will not include honeymoon. We are also in NJ so a very expensive area. I just hunted and hunted and found ways to save. We found a cheap venue with tables and chairs but its completely DIY and those costs are adding up. I really wanted to spend more like 10k, but that was going to be pretty impossible and I'm really happy with how things are turning out.

We are coming in around $13k. That doesn't include our honeymoon tho.

$50 to over $50,000. Depends on when (day of the week and month), where (state, venue) and what (decorations, food, dress, etc) you want.

My FH & I have a budget of 30k set. This will include everything for us though! Our guest list is currently about 140. As a previous financial advisor, I’d highly recommend to set a realistic budget that won’t require you to use credit cards, or take out a loan. Happy wedding planning! Smiley smile

My FH and I had a budget of 10K (northern Michigan), and most of the fancy venues were 7K by themselves. We decided to get married at a cute little park ($25 to reserve for the day) and then paid $1200 for our venue. We are currently coming in under 7K for everything.

It really depends on how many people and what you want. I live in Florida as well and mine is running about 11K for 45 people. My friend is also getting married in Florida and hers is about 20K for 100 people

My fiance and I are paying for our own wedding and planned a smaller wedding for about 50-60 guests. We are still having a decent caterer, venue, real flowers, etc. for about $6k. We live in the eastern panhandle of WV.

I would add up what you have in savings (that you are okay spending) and what you can save each month between you and your fiance from now until December 2020. Then if anyone else is contributing, you can add that money in. I've been to weddings that cost $3,000 and weddings that cost $75,000 so I don't think there is a real average.

Our budget is 10K and right now were a little over 15k. Thankfully were paying less than that due to our family offering so much help!

Your budget should completely be based on how much money you and your FH can save. Sit down together and go over all of your finances and see how much money per month you can put aside until your wedding and that is your budget! Don’t be pressured to spend more or less based on other people! Good luck! 💕

We budgeted $5,000- ended up spending $4,800. That was for 120 people- food, music, venue, decor, photography, tuxes and my dress all included. We paid for everything ourselves and if we didn't have the cash upfront for it, we didn't do it. Planned and paid if full in less than 8 months. Turned out to be everything we wanted, wouldn't change a thing.

Don't feel like you have to impress other people with how much you can spend. It is your wedding, not theirs. And as important as it is to you.... they won't really care nor remember. You don't want to start a marriage in debt for one day.

Average cost in socal I think is $34k or something. Or that might be the average in general. I spent roughly $16k but I didn't include things such as rehearsal dinner or the attire of my husband, rings, bridal and groomsmen gifts, etc just cause some things felt like they were our gifts to them and things we would use beyond the wedding but if I included all that then that's about another $2k added.
