how much does a makeup artist cost on average in Sacramento

Wondering the same thing. So far my online searching is$80 depending on airbrushing or not (San Antonio Texas)...is that typical?

Too much, lol. I talked to one that was around $300. Screw that, I'm not that bad at putting on make up.

Debating on buying nice make up and doing it myself...having a hard time finding vendors that will work on a Sunday (which means onsite only) without charging an arm and a leg. If you goto their shop its like $80 but otherwise it's like $250.

Most shops arn't open Sundays :-(

I cannot tell you what they charge in your area....but for my daughters wedding, in Portland, OR, we had out hair dresser spend the day with us.

He arrived at 9AM...started hair and make-up at 10AM. He was charged with the Bride, me, my ex's wife (my wife-in-law) and the MOH. He stayed until 2PM.....when we went to do photos.

My "wife-in-law" paid the tab and it was $350. Well worth every penny...even if I had paid that tab.

Ladies, please realize that IF you are asking a makeup/hair stylist to come to your venue, there will be a charge. Not only does the artist need to be paid, but they will have other expenses.

Also, please note, the stylist will be giving up their day at their salon, where they can make more than they will at a wedding.

Wow. I got my MUA for $55 and they come to wherever I want for the consultation and day of. It's $35/bridesmaid. I guess a lot of it has to do with the area. The cost where I'm at isn't like a big city.

I meant to say that I found mine at a bridal show. Those are pretty helpful in finding vendors.
