How much do flowers cost?

Emma, on October 30, 2019 at 9:04 AM Posted in Style and Décor 2 26

So in order to keep our costs down we were going to go the fake flower route. However, the florist at the store my fiancé works at offered to help us out and try to keep it on the cheaper side. She said she could give us a deal, but since I haven't really done much research on real flowers I don't even know what a good deal would actually look like. If we can swing it, I would rather do real flowers.

Any thoughts on this would help!

For reference we're already not planning on doing a lot of flowers to keep costs down as it is.

2 Bridesmaids Bouquets

1 Bridal Bouquet

3 Boutonnieres

18ft of Eucalyptus Garland

So we got our estimate from our florist, and a lot of the charge was the work she would do to get the flowers there and to purchase the flowers. We're also doing an archway to get married under that we're renting from her, so that added up to. Here are the estimates she gave me though for just the wedding party:

    My bouqet: 185
    Bridesmaids: 60 each
    Groom boutinenere: 15
    Groomsmen: 12.50 each

The main cost is the labor from what I can tell. If you skip traditional centerpieces, you can probably get everything with real flowers for a reasonable cost.

Costco has 25ft of garland for $100 and I ordered my flowers from Bouqs for $372. That includes 3 bouquets, petals and 4 boutonnières and 2 corsages.

We ordered flowers from Sams club and spent $300 and had way more then we needed.
1 bridal bouquet, 4 bridesmaids, 2 mother’s hoops, 5 grandmothers hoops, 14 boutonnières, a floral arrangement for in front of the podium and for 11 table runners.

I am thinking of doing fake flowers from this Etsy shop. She has a bunch of different styles and can do custom ones as well. I know you aren't doing a ton of flowers but she has 17 piece bundles where you can buy less or more. Most of the sets are $300 or less and I would imagine with how little you are buying it would be pretty affordable.

We got my flowers at hobby lobby on a day when flowers were half off. I’m having:
    1 bridal bouquet (pretty large)
    2 bridesmaids bouquets
    25 buotonnières/corsages
and the total was about $120.

We had a very low flower budget too... spent $70 on my bouquet (8 roses, some baby’s breath and some greenery) and that was all we got from the florist. We diy’d bridesmaids bouquets with grocery store flowers which worked out great!

    Check out a Sams Club- they deliver online. They have flower packages, mine cost 375 total and included;

    Bridal Bouquet

    5 bridesmaid bouquet

4 corsages for mothers and grand mothers

    6 boutonnieres

Flower petals for the flower girls

I ended up buying one extra boutonniere for my husband as I wanted it to be different. The flowers were delivered the Thursday before the wedding on Saturday so they had time to open to full bloom.

They were gorgeous and extremely no hassle.

I'm making paper roses out of our favorite books, manga, and comics. For a bridal bouquet, 6 corsages, 6 boutonnieres, and 10 table vase bouquets my final supplies cost is around $150. Granted, I've also spent about 60 hours making flowers, haha. But I love that they're completely personal to our relationship.

I think you should do what's best for you and if you prefer real flowers, then doing less from a discount club store I've heard is the best way to go. Coscto, Sam's Club, and flower markets if you can get there generally have killer deals for bulk flowers.

I'd look in to your local grocery store, Costco, Sam's club, fifty flowers, fabulous floral, and flower moxie. You can get real flowers for the same or less than artificial if you shop around. I'm making 1 bridal bouquet, 4 bridesmaids, 4 boutonniers, and two table centerpieces for $200, and I'm using some more expensive flowers.

This will primarily depend on your specific flower selection and the season you plan to get married. I chose flowers in season, and my wedding is in NC. I'll list my range of quotes - my final florist selection has the lowest in the range, and then my highest quote. On a few of the flower selections, I got bulk discounts on the flowers because I used so many with centerpieces as well.

Bridal Bouquet: $110 - $250 (includes small toss bouquet)

    Bridesmaid Bouquet: $68 - $150/ea

    Boutonnieres: $9 - $30/ea

    Eucalyptus Garland: $9 - $12/foot

I’m planning my second wedding and I can say this... I’m having more flowers, lots of flowers because we did the same as what you and your fiancé are and it was also to save cost. However, I also regretted it because your bridal pays all this money for their dresses/tuxes and then have fake flowers. I felt horrible when I saw they’re faces. But food and reception was great.

I got faux flowers and they look great from blooming Wreath off etsy. 1 VERY large bridal bouquet (a bit larger then expected. You could get away with a bridesmaids size bouquet with different flowers or different colored ribbon), 1 bridesmaid, 3 corsages, 1 wrist corsage, and a thing of loose flowers for $300 with shipping.

Once I'm done, I will break up the bouquet and make some sort of arrangement for our home. Like I said, that bridal one is HUGE. I'm not mad about it, I think it will look great in pictures.

I had only bouquets and bouts and no floral decor. Each bridesmaid was at a different table and I provided water for their bouquet to sit. We found an amazing price for our florals and they were great! We were able to pick up the day before so there wasn’t a delivery charge.
    Bridal bouquet: $100
    toss bouquet: free
bridesmaid bouquet: $50 each ($200 total)
    groom bout: $15
grooms men bout: $10 each ($40 total)

    Hope this helps! Happy planning!
