How much did your videographer/photographer cost ya?

Elizabeth, on October 1, 2015 at 7:06 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 33

So I've done a lot of research and have gotten a lot of rates from photographers and videographers but there's this one person who does both!!! He says that his starting package is at $2,400. What do you ladies think?

That's about right for my area for someone of quality.

We're paying $2250 but that is for 10 hours of coverage, a second shooter as well as rights and copies of all pictures, edited. AND an engagement session. Smiley smile Whoot

I asked if we could customize the packages because so many included albums and that is something I can do myself/my mom is super savvy online with photos and photo books. I mostly wanted to make sure the photographers would be there all day and not leave the reception after the cake cutting.

Our photo is 2100 for 12 hours, 2 photogs.

Our videographer is 1000 for 10 hours.

We did a lot of searching and waited until they offered specials to book. We love them both!

So it this just one person doing both videography and photography at the same time? How is this gonna work? If it's two people for this price, you got yourself a deal, just make sure you like their work.

We're paying about 3k for both (two people for 8h each), but we're only get the raw video and FH will cut it (he does that for a living too)

I need more details. The starting price is probably just for photography. We found a couple that we love who does both, but for both services, it would start at $7,000. Their photography package starts at $2500 for both of them for 6 hours.

Ours is $2,000 for 8 hours to photographers but that's just photography. Our videographer is also $2,000 for 7 hours. So $4,000 between the two. we are in San Diego California

I'm paying $800 for 2 hours... pretty much covering ceremony, first dance, and cake cutting. All my budget would allow and I feel fortunate she was will to do just these things. Pays to get married on a slow day, LOL. I'd love to have the all day, beautiful story, but alas, not in the cards for me.

You have to really consider what you want vs. what you're willing to pay for....and most of all, what is the most important to you. We're paying $4,000 for photo and $3,200 for video. These were the most important things for me so we were willing to invest a little more than normal. Our original budget for photo/video was $5k so since this clearly went over we cut back in other areas like getting a DJ instead of a band. Most photo/video are willing to work with you if you give them a budget. The video includes 2 camera men and 10 hours. 10 minute movie and a copy of all footage. Photo included full day coverage no time limit, free engagement session, one photographer and an assistant, digital rights to all photos, and a photo album.

We got lucky. Our photographer cost us $1400 for 8 hours. One photographer and the rights to a CD with our pictures - no albums. She doesn't really advertise her work. She does have a FB page of her work but its mostly word of mouth. She doesn't even have a website.

The videographer cost us $350 for 8 hours - He's really young and our wedding was his first wedding to record.

I never settled for the first vendor I spoke to. I looked and asked around a lot and that's how I found both the photog and video. I refused to pay the ridiculous prices wedding vendors charge and I have to say I am very happy with both of their work.

We paid $2900 for 2 photographers for 8 hours. We get full rights to all the pictures and we got an engagement session. That price was kind of on the low end for my area.

ETA: @FMP, what an amazing find with your videographer! I can't remember, have you posted your video already?

Photo: $2800, 9 hours, 2nd shooter, 30 day guarantee return on all photos, all rights to photos

Video: $3900, 10 hours, 30 day guarantee return on video, fricken amazing videographer!!!!

We picked out our videographer prior to being engaged and he recommended our photographer, amazing vendors. We got our photos back in less than 2 weeks and got our video trailer in 4 days. Just waiting on the full video now.

Our photographer is $4500 but that includes 8 hours of wedding day coverage, engagement session, bridal session, prints, a CD of the edited high-res files for each of the sessions, and printing rights.

Our videographer is 4K - that includes 8 hours of wedding day coverage, a highlight film, all of the raw footage, and a well wishes video.

We do love them both though and this was THE most important thing to me so we splurged.

Around $4k for unlimited hours, 2 photogs, all photo rights, an album and our engagement session. This was a discounted rate due to off-season and our wedding planner partnership. Our photographer is definitely the best vendor we've booked so far! We are skipping video since photo was way more important to us, as were a few other things that we'd prefer to spend on.

We are paying roughly $2,700 for 2 photographers, 10 hours, 350+ edited shots with the rights to all photos, an engagement session, and a few prints. I think we got an excellent deal.

We booked with the most amazing 2 photographers for $3,000. The package included an amazing engagement shoot, full day coverage of getting ready, all through the night and the after party. We have access to all of the images both raw and edited.
