How much did you spend on photography and did you regret it?

I've found a photographer I LOVE for $4,300 - this includes engagements, all day of the wedding, 2nd shooter, album, prints, digital file. FH thinks it's too much to spend. What are you thoughts? How much did you spend and was is worth it? Photography is the one thing I do not want to skimp on. I've...

Photography is the one thing I do not want to skimp on. I've heard too many horror stories!

Trust me, I've done so much research, I'm exhausted! I am completely comfortable paying this photographer $4300 for what we would be getting, the quality of his work, and knowing that he will capture exactly the photos we want. FH would rather pay $3000-$3500 for photography but I convinced him to cut $800 elsewhere! Compromise works wonders Smiley winking

I think you chose wisely if you truly love their work. Smiley smile

We're spending $4,000 for 8 hours, two shooters, and digital files of all our photos. Where I live 3-6k is standard for experienced and in demand photographers.

I spent $3000 for what you're getting. And I don't regret it one bit!!! Our photos are amazing. And at the end of the day, there's two things that remain after your "day". Your husband, and the wedding photos. And you better be in love with both : )

I think $4000 would be reasonable too for that, just depends on your location.

We spent around $3k and I do not regret it. This was actually one of the more affordable photographers in my area (NYC). The photos are what you have left when the party is over, and they will be enjoyed for years to come. Worthy expense.

I lucked out and found my photographer when she was running her annual special. She shot our wedding, all day, for $1,000. We just got our professional pictures back from her and they are fucking gorgeous.

I've seen and heard so many horror stories of people who skimped on the photography, and were really unhappy with the majority of their photos. I would most certainly not want to be in that situation. FH is really into photography, very picky about everything. We found the perfect photographer for us, he's great as a person and even better as a photographer. He's the only one that FH didn't have one single complaint about. His package also comes with ALOT, so it's well worth the $4600 we're paying. Especially if it includes a nice wedding album. The albums alone can be over $1000, so if a really high quality one in the package, you're definitely getting your money's worth. It really just depends how important good pictures are to you. Do you want to have "nice pictures" or "holy shit these pictures are amazing" pictures?

Ours was $4,800 for what your getting. We had issues with them however so we are booking someone else and just forfeiting our deposit, but the new photographer is in that range as well.

I thought $2300 was too much. Now I see that was probably reasonable
