No joke, I found the perfect dress by accident at Goodwill for $25 and there is nothing wrong with it! Believe me, I checked every inch! I am still in shock! lol

I paid $4000 for my couture dress which was custom designed and made just for me. It include unlimited alterations, my custom designed veil, and gloves. I looked at about 30,000 dresses over the internet, tried on a few at RK bridal in NYC, and went to Kleinfeld. I didn't LOVE any of them. And the ones I liked cost over $5000 anyway. I soon realized because of my height and shape I would be better off having a custom designed gown instead of paying $1000 in alterations. This was my one splurge on myself. I think you should have whatever you want for your wedding if you can afford it and are not going broke over it.

Mine was $300 and the alterations were free. It was at a little boutique that was going out of business. So I got a great deal on it...I think it was like 80% off. I love it! And the veil was $40 custom made and died to match my dress.

Well from what i understand, the general rule of thumb is 10% of whatever your budget is for the wedding, is the maximum you should spent on a dress. So if your budget is $10,000, look for a dress no more the $1,000. At least that's the rule I went with. The dress I found was $699 before taxes and alterations.

I got mine at a local bridal shop, it's a Davinci and with the tiara it cost almost $1100 after taxes, but before alterations, luckily it should only have to be hemmed a little cuz I'm short and fitted around the bust. I love it, it's my dream dress!
