How much is everyone spending on catering and what are you having? I just like hearing all the different meals everyone serves!

I need to follow this as well. As of right now, we were quoted approximately $4955 for around 125 people. The menu includes: fruit and cheese and specialty lemonades for cocktail hour, for the reception: brisket or sirloin with bourbon bbq glaze, chicken breast with the 3 choices of sauces, Eggplant stir fry (for vegetarians), Italian squash and mixed vegetables, rice pilaf, yeast rolls with 3 different butters to choose from, our wedding cake, cupcakes, brownies, blondies, and a mashed potato bar for a late night snack.

I think including gratuity we're at $1800. They are just doing the food, we have a separate vendor for drinks. I honestly can't remember the exact buffet menu since that was my fiancé's department haha, but we will have a chicken option, a beef option, a pasta, a potato, salad, rolls, and then obviously vegetarian meals for those who need them

This all depends on where you live. I’m on the eastern shore of MD and our price per person, the minimum we have to spend, is $110 in food and beverage. I think our food was like $12000, bar is $5900 and the rest is tax, grat, and liquor tax. We are at about $24000. It’s also our sister property of the venue I work, so I did get a bit of a discount.

We are not doing catering and just going to have a taco bar. We will be paying someone to help serve and make sure everything is full. I am the member of a couple local groups so we are going to see if a few ppl from that wld like to help.

We were quoted $4437.50 just for the customized menu (not including staffing fees, rental fees etc.) for 125 people. This includes plated salads, entrees, which of course will slightly alter the price depending on the plated options we will choose, Fruit and Cheese Display, 2 passed Hors d'Oeuvres for cocktail hour. Our plated options all come with dessert. We are hiring a separate catering company to do the alcohol.

We paid just over $200 per guest but it was an all include venue so it included the food, top shelf open bar, plus all the tables chairs, place settings, etc.

For cocktail hour we had 7 passed hor d'oeuvres: shrimp cocktail, caviar on potato latke, steak skewers, gazpacho, chicken curry wonton, crab cake, and fried zucchini. Rest of the menu is below.

I think location plays greatly into catering prices! We are in the Midwest and invited roughly 235 guests. We were quoted right under $2,000. Just food, no drinks! It is buffet-style, but there will be someone serving the food. Menu is pulled pork (sauce on the side), grilled chicken breast, scalloped potatoes, green beans, side salad, and rolls!

Ours is $77 per person, not including drinks. This is at an all-inclusive venue though so the venue costs are wrapped into the catering. It includes veggie cups and a fruit and cheese display for cocktail hour, and we're serving a buffet with:

    - caprese salad

    - berry goat cheese salad

    - caesar salad

    - chicken tortellini dish

    - local grouper with macadamia crust and mango relish

    - prime rib carving

    - veggies, potatoes, rice and rolls on the side

We're also paying about $2k to add sliders, mini pizzas, and pretzels to cocktail hour.

80 guests, our venue fee is $7500, and food/wine/beer/specialty cocktail is $95/pp. Including tax and gratuity it will cost us about $17,500. This includes all the tables, chairs, linens, servers, etc. It includes 7 horderves, 3 entrees (buffet style), a salad, and two sides. We have a $24,000 budget, so we are going "cheap" on all the extras. I plan on DIY-ing my flowers, we have a friend doing our cake, my photographer is $2000 for 2 hours, and I am still looking for a DJ in the $1100 range. Budget doesn't include my dress or the honeymoon.

Not a fun time for my pockets right now.

That’s complicated to answer. Our proper dinner— like everything on the buffet plus plates salad and rolls on the table was $37 per person.
But the total costs we paid to the caterer was more like $135 or so per person— including all apps (those were itemized a la carts, same for the dessert), beverages (non alcoholic, incl water, soft drinks, iced tea, lemonade, and coffee service), bartenders (and all citrus/garanish for the bar [we provided alcohol and mixers]), servers, and all rentals (tables, linens, forks plates glasses— everything!) and set up and clean up.
    Menus (dinner & cocktail hour):

We are spending $15,000 for 175 people. That includes linens & china, but not the bar. We are having a stationary appetizer that is Caprese themed, then 3 passed ones. Then we are having a buffet of chicken & bison sirloin with mashed potatoes & brussel sprouts. And a plated salad prior.
