How much did you drink at your own wedding?

FH and I both take full advantage of the open bar at every wedding we've been to in the past. I mentioned to him recently that we obviously don't want to drink too much at our own wedding. I want to be able to remember it at the very least! So just curious, how did this go for everyone?

1 glass of champagne - 1 glass of wine. 2 glasses are my absolute limit, regardless of the event. I get sick on anything more.

I have a feeling I'll only have a glass of wine, I really don't want to get sloppy.

I had a a mimosas while getting ready, and I stuck to beer for the reception, because it's just what I know how to handle.

I don't know how many I drank, because I would get one, take some sips, put it down for a song or picture, loose it, and then go get another one, so that bartenders probably thinks I had like 10 beers. Haha

One of my recent brides instructed the coordinator to bring her white wine spritzers in a champagne glass with a strawberry. Worked like a charm!

I plan to maybe have 1 glass of wine or two. Fiance will not be drinking as he turns red so no alcohol for him.

I am a big drinker. I ended up having lie 4 beers throughout the night, I lit up the after party though. Its one day a year. The open bar isn't for you its for your guests. I made it a point not to drink because I wanted to enjoy every moment. Turns out there really wasn't time to anyway.

I had a maybe 3 total glasses of champagne. I don't drink much normally, so that would be enough to make me very tipsy. However there was so much excitement that I didn't feel the alcohol at all.

I usually take full advantage of the bar at other weddings, but I didn't drink at all at ours. I didn't even think about it until after it was over lol

Well, my bam was titled "Back and hungover" but I think it was more the very late night that did me in. I had a few drinks handed to me, especially by the photog assistant, who said I looked "parched." Mostly I took a few sips and then put it down and lost it.

I had a few glasses of champagne while on our party bus on the way to the reception and like 2 glasses of wine at cocktail hour. I didn't really get to drink at the reception and I was so hot all I wanted was water.

At the last wedding I went to the bride was so drunk she was making out with her bridesmaids on the dance floor. They were all doing shots out of her cleavage. I was embarrassed for her... Her dress was ruined with lipstick all over the sweetheart neckline.

I honestly didn't have time to get much to drink either! And I was thirsty the entire night - I'm NOT one to drink water, but at one point that's all I wanted was a jug of water. I ended up having a small glass of champagne at dinner and one or two mixed drinks over the course of the reception, but those were spread over a several hour span and I didn't even feel anything from them. DH isn't a drinker anyways so he just had soda all night.

    I had a half a beer.

    Half.

I was just too busy! Between pictures, and toasts, and Father Daughter Dance, and food, and socializing...I just didn't have time.

We drank at our home bar afterwards though. I got pretty lit there. lol (Jameson and ginger ale, and shots of Wild Irish Rose for the win.)

I was drinking sangria. The head server made sure I always had a full glass, but I was busy going around to tables, dancing, in the photo booth, etc, so I probably drank maybe 2 glasses? If he hadn't been handing them to me I probably wouldn't have had any. I wanted coffee but never had a chance to get myself a cup and never thought of asking for it. Too much going on.

We both thought we would drink and just uber it to our hotel. In reality I maybe had 2 drinks the whole night at the reception and the same for H. You just get so busy talking to your guest and dancing that we didn't even think about it. We did bring a few bottles of wine and a case a beer to the hotel and had a few there afterwards in the lobby with some friends.

I had a few mimosas while getting ready to calm my nerves and drank wine at my wedding. I did not keep track but I know it was more then 2. I did not drink too much to get stupid, but I had a blast alongside my guests.

Since we are having such a small wedding I expect to be drunk. LOL- FH doesn't drink- so I'm hoping for 4 glasses of wine/stilletos. He'll be annoyed with me if I get sloppy drunk..... but I have an insanely long day so I suspect by the time I Get 2 drinks in me I"m going to be passed the eff out.

I really did not get to drink much at all at our wedding. Every time I would get a drink I would get pulled away to something and by the time I came back to it, it was gone!

My DH and I both agreed we would be careful not to get too drunk at our wedding reception. I was more concerned about DH but we both got a good buzz on but did not get too drunk! As others have said, you almost don't have time to even go get a drink haha. I had some mimosas in the morning, but then stuck to water before the ceremony. Then I had wine with dinner, and switched to vodka/sprite during the dancing. Not my favorite drink choice, but I really did not want to spill on and stain my dress with anything that had color and didn't want to bloat from beer. We drank a bit more after our wedding at the after party too. We still had a great time, but I remember every minute of our wedding day and we also still were up for consummating the marriage that night! haha.
