I'm curious how much you are paying/paid for your wedding cake(s)? I just put a deposit down on our wedding cakes. We have a guest list of 250. We're going to have 5 different wedding cakes. The total amount for the 5 wedding cakes is $870 with delivery and stands. I think it sounds expensive, but...

The flavors and designs are amazing. Am I out of my mind for paying this much lol?

    Ours is up to $900 if we have our max guest list of 130 because we will need another tier. It seemed about average for our area and it has a bunch of detail- layers of ruffled fondant and flowers. We also got a "deluxe" flavor. It was super pricey to me- I expected like $500 max and then she said that and I wanted to vomit. But she is the only baker anyone in our area recommends and her cake was super yummy. And naturally we loved her "deluxe" flavor which was $5pp.

    75=52.50 + $20 = $72.50

    My daughter had three flavors.

    The bottom tier was Pink Champagne with Strawberry Filling.

    Middle tier - Poppyseed with Raspberry Filling

    To tier - White with Lemon

    They did not save the top tier as the bakery gave them a certificate for a 1st Anniversary cake (they chose to do the Pink Champagne for that one).

    The cake was buttercream, with a dark chocolate flow and white chocolate calla lillies.

    I paid $575 for it. It was made to serve 85 (we knew not everyone would eat cake). We had 134 guests and had approx. 18 servings left over, which didn't hurt my feelings as I was able to bring 6 servings home with me...LOL!

    We are budgeting to spend no more than $400. We are also going to have cupcakes, cookies and several differents types of pies.

    Our is $587 for a 5 tier cake, 3d grooms cake, and custom cake topper. My cake is rather time consuming as well. We got a fantastic deal! Other bakers were telling is a minimum of $1500
