Probably 6000$ for flights, some accommodation, rental car, and a LOT of cheese and wine. we flew to Barcelona and stayed there a couple nights, then drove to the south of France where we stayed a week (those accommodations were free, thanks to a family friend who has a house there, it was a dream)
we also did a minimoon road trip to Chicago/Detroit/Ann Arbor right after the wedding that probably cost us about 1k (driving from near Toronto).
@MrsWRS we are going to Sri Lanka too for 14 days! How did you plan it for so cheap. Just the flights for the two of us will be over $2,500 dollars
@Rusty we are heading to Japan also!! 2 full weeks it's totaling just under $15k. I have the same thoughts, this is the only place we've ever wanted to go! So excited!
@Jaci- Yay fellow Japan traveler! We are so excited too, FH has been trying to learn Japanese with an app. haha. What kinda things are you doing/where are you staying?
Gonna do a mini-moon because of work constraints. Puerto Vallarta for 5 day's at a luxury resort for $3500. Flight will be paid for through miles. I figure another $1,000 in food and drinks while down there.
Originally 5300 for 9 nights at all inclusive in Mexico with a swim up suite . Saw a Black Friday sale and re-booked for $4100 ! Yay me. Flights were free with points on Southwest .
Wow, not sure how much we will be spending, but def on the lower end... no more than 3k. For those of you spending over 4k for 5 to 7 days, what exactly makes the 5 to 7 day trip so much? Really just curious. We travel often and have never gone for 3k for both and had some great vacations.
Not sure on extras but the condo I'm staying in at kiawaii is free as my mom coowns it with friends. But we are staying g one night in Charleston as the wedding is Saturday and the condo is booked till Monday morning. So we leave Sunday to Charleston then kiawaii Monday afternoon. (45 min trip). Saturday night sleeping in a nice hotel parents gift
We spent 8 days on the Big Island. We won RT airfare so we upgraded our room. We knew that this was a once in a lifetime trip - we went into knowing we would be spending more than on other trips. We are what we wanted, we drank what we wanted, we did what we wanted. It was glorious and amazing!!!!! I think that we spent just under $4K.
