How much are you paying for your Doc?

Hannah, on October 24, 2019 at 1:04 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 10

I am undecided if I'm going to hire a DOC. At first, it was not even on my mind. But the closer we get (7 weeks), the more nervous I am about things going smoothly. I have friends and family willing to step up and help (for free) and I'm so grateful and that may be the route we take still, but I feel like I'd still have to be dealing with any mishaps that happen and make decisions and it just all sounds very stressful. So I'm thinking about possibly working my stretched budget around to add a DOC. I know that they are worth it, and I know they are lifesavers, I'm totally sold on that. I'm just trying to see if we can afford it. I know this is yet another thing that will vary by location, but I'm just trying to get some ballpark numbers because I don't even know if I should be expecting in the hundreds or in the thousands... So what are you paying for your DOC?

I’m paying my DOC $900, but my best friend is paying $450 for hers. Both in Nashville.

We are undecided on full service DOC (my venue provides some basic services like vendor coordination at no cost). They offer two additional packages priced at $500 and $1000 which include extra item placement, set up, and tear down depending on which package you choose. They told us that generally if we choose vendors who are familiar with the venue, we probably won't need the additional services.

I'm in Denver. We paid $1,000 for ours, she was more of a "month of" coordinator and we are SO happy we hired her.

I'm in SC and our DOC is $400. Very affordable, even for around here. This is just a side business for her and she's just starting out for the most part. So thankful for her!

I'm paying $800 in Milwaukee. She has experience but maybe is on the newer end of being in this field. Most prices I saw for other DOC's were $1500 and up.

We paid $690 for our coordinator and he was worth every penny if not more.
