We met in fall of 2007 at a junior college that we both attended. We didn’t have a class together but he says he saw me in the hallway and then looked for me on a MySpace group that our college had. Lol I know creepy haha just kidding. I tell him that he got lucky that i actually accepted his friend request. And well we would chat on there and eventually we met up one day. We were friends for a while...I was in a relationship at the time. But then that relationship ended and he was there to be my shoulder to cry on and the person I could vent to. We would go out to eat to talk and my feelings toward him was growing more and more. It was in January 6 or 7th of 2013 that he invited me to eat because he wanted to give me my birthday present and he had some “bad news” to tell me. The whole way to meet up with him I couldn’t stop thinking what that bad news was! So we sat down at a booth to eat dinner, we started talking and he gave me the present. He then told me, “so I have some bad news to tell you”. I was so nervous! He proceeded to tell me that the “bad news” was that he likes me and that it’s been since day one of our friendship. I was speechless and was freaking out because I liked him too! I was so shocked that I ended up getting up to go to the restroom. (I didn’t have to go use it lol) i took like 10 minutes there just saying “omg omg omg” to myself lol i eventually went back and he asked if I was okay
lol i said yes just that i was caught of guard.
well after that we had already eaten so we just decided to head out.
he walked me to my car and gave me a hug.
i thanked him for the lovely dinner and for the present, but at the same time I was thinking to myself “I need to tell him that I like him too”!!! We said our goodbyes and as I was about to pull out from my parking space I decided to text him and said “I just couldn’t put it into words when I was in front of you but I like you too”!
He replied and said, “ you don’t know how happy that makes me to know that”.
So we went on several dates after that day and on January 22nd 2013 he asked me to be his girlfriend with a ring pop.
So the ring pop is a candy that we always give each other in every 22nd of each month.
Then fast forward to November of 2016, he took me to a week long vacation to Guanajuato Mexico. It was durin thanksgiving week. On the day before thanksgiving he took me for a walk at a beautiful park in Guanajuato late at night. We stopped at a huge kiosk in the middle of the park...I never imagined that he was trying to propose there...but I was suspicious on why his two cousins were taking pictures of us and my fiancé had his go pro in his hands. We were walking down the steps and he turns around and looks at me. He started telling me how glad he was that we were on this trip together and that I was seeing all the places that he had been to when he was little. Then he started to tell me how much he loved me and how he’s glad that our relationship started off as a friendship...then he said “I would really want for you to be my wife”....he got down in one knee....I started crying like a baby lol I said “yes of course”! I couldn’t stop crying. He is truly my Prince Charming and my forever best friend.
Weve been engaged for two years now and this November will be our wedding.

We’ve know each other for almost 50 years, we have been together for 1 year.

4 years and 8 months

6 years together. 7 on Nov 24th 2019. Wedding in 2020! Super Excited!

Wow! Congratulations everyone! My FH and I have actually only been together 11 months. We will be at a year and seven months when we get married.
