We toured 6 venues total but half of them were by myself. A couple of them only had available tour windows on weekdays so I just went alone and recorded it for my fiance to look at. Nothing felt right or it did but was too expensive and finally the sixth venue was just perfect. 💕

I physically visited a total of four venues. Two others were ruled out ahead of time because I didn't like some of their policies. Some places just did not look like they did online at all. One place had a funky smell. Two where golf resort restaurants. One was the Monterey at the Encino Golf Course--they had the funky smell, and even though their menu options were affordable, I very quickly realized it was going to be a money sink from the perspective of actually getting the space to look the way I wanted. Plus there would be no way to cover up the smell. The other was the Sunset Ballroom at Los Robles. They had a beautiful reception room, but the extra drapery to make it look perfect would cost an extra $1300 at the time I visited. Their menu was much more pricey than the Monterey, but the venue itself looked very clean, tidy and well managed. I visited the Porter Valley Country Club. I liked them a lot. Their staff sounded very eager to accommodate us in every way. Their food was in the same ballpark as Los Robles, but there were more options. Finally, there was the Odyssey Restaurant. Between all the venues we visited, their ballrooms were the nicest and best furnished. That is not to say that Porter Valley didn't have a beautiful ballroom, but the ceilings are higher at the Odyssey and they threw in the ceiling drapery for free. They also had a far more extensive menu options, along with upgrades to each option, and they said they'd provide napkins to match our colors. They also offered to set up any table I needed for my candy bar, and they'd place all the linens I brought in. And they had complimentary valet parking. So the choice was a no brainer.

Two and the second one was just to say that we did. Our first venue was beyond perfect.

That's awesome! Sometimes it's good to look at others to make sure the one you wanted is really it! What venue did you book?

I had 20 venues picked out but my fiance said we can only look at 5. Haha men 😋 We only looked at 2 because the first one we went to, we knew was the one.

My fiancé was so excited that he booked at least 12 venues for us to visit in person before we said yes to the one!

So far... none! We will be visiting the location sometime soon and will probably only visit 2. There are only 3 in the town we want to get married in.

Far far too many! 16 before we found our venue. NYC is a tough market, many options but not always good value for the exorbitant prices.

We have been to 4 venues! We ended up booking the second venue we visited because it was most suited to our style.
