How many venues did you look at before you chose "the One"?

I got engaged April 20th of this year and immediately joined wedding wire and started searching for venues. On the 27th we went to a wedding venue and I fell in love. I got engaged April 20th of this year and immediately joined wedding wire and started searching for venues. On the 27th we went to a wedding venue and I fell in love. It was the first venue I looked at. It had all of the elements I wanted in a venue: brick, at a winery, rustic, barn doors, etc. I looked at my mother in law and asked if i'd be crazy to put a deposit down now and cancel all the other venue appointments. She said nope, she'd do the same thing! I am STILL in love and am so happy with my decision! How many venues did you look at before you chose "THE ONE"? What type of venue did you choose... rustic, romantic, chic, brewery, etc?

I only went to two venues and I knew the second one was "THE ONE." I fell so madly in love with it. It was so much easier for me to choose a venue versus a dress--I'm still looking and have been to at least 6 different dress shops, tried on probably 50... Anyway, I loooooooooove my venue so much. It's a 1928 Washington State Ferry permanently docked in Lake Union near Seattle. We're having the ceremony out on the front of the boat with all of Lake Union and the downtown Seattle skyline as the backdrop.

Well we didn’t technically tour any places because we are getting married near where we grew up which is a 4 hr plane ride from where we live now, but all the places we chose we had been to at one time or another. The one I really wanted was the botanical gardens, but the prices were just too far out of reach. Instead we are going with our second choice which is the Zoo. They have a lovely modern event space inside the zoo overlooking a pond. We were also able to save $1000 by booking a Sunday instead.

Looked at 2 venues. We were going to book the 1st, but I was not thrilled with the contract. So, we looked at a 2nd and chose the 2nd. It offered more for what we wanted, allowed us to gain more guests, and even had a few perks the 1st venue didn't have for less money.

One!! almost the same story as you in fact! I knew some very specific things I wanted, and booked an appointment with one place that had it all, with two more we were going to look at. FH, my mom & I visited the venue, and we all three knew it was exactly the place we had to have the wedding. Never even scheduled the other appointments, & put the deposit down a week later

Don't look at me, I picked a venue a year before we were engaged. FH and I took a day-cation to Richmond and decided to see the Edgar Allan Poe Museum (we're both fans or mystery/horror and his books). The tour takes us into the garden and I just lost it. Started smaking his arm and pulled him down to my level so I could whisper in the middle of the tour that if we ever get married, it was going to be here. On the drive home I Googled if they do weddings, found out they do, and then bided my time for the ring. Called the venue twenty minutes after I called my parents.

I looked at some online, and one of the ones I found on this site was the only one we actually went to see. That’s what we went with because it suited everything we (mostly I lol.) wanted.

Two! (Both on the same day). Our venue was the second one we went to, and it literally hit every one of our check points. They were amazing to work with from the first time I contacted them.

Congrats on your engagement. I also got engaged on April 20th this year! I saw 3 venues, all different kinds one was traditional one was rustic chic and the last one that we ended up choosing was a ocean venue. I wss really hesitant about being married so close to the water but I fell in love almost instantly. There was no comparison to the venue we chose. Just go with your heart! We ended up booking the venue may 11th! They had our date and time we wanted so it was perfect. Congrats again!
