How many types of favors is enough??

Megglesleslye, on August 11, 2016 at 7:11 PM Posted in Planning 0 30

I read. A lot. I wanted to design a bookmark for everyone. My FH wants to give out fish hooks. But I also want to give out tiny bottles of either strawberry wine or homemade jam. How much is enough? Or is there a limit haha

I mean, that sounds like overkill, especially since a lot of times favors get left behind. It would be terrible to put all that money and effort into something that not everyone takes home.

I think the wine sounds great! For the record - I'm skipping them entirely.

Honestly, it sounds like too much. I also wouldn't take any of them. I think you would just be wasting money, but your know your guests.

I'm skipping mine entirely, as well. Saves money on something the majority of the guests will throw away. That strawberry wine does sound hella good though.......

We gave chocolates, chapsticks and photobooth photos so I understand a lot of favors. There's no limit but know that trinket and non-edible favors get left behind so it could be a money waster.

I think one thing is enough, but favors aren't that necessary.

FH memaw wants to make the wine or the jam and I greatly appreciate it. So I should just stick with that? Yea, not looking to waste money. FH I know would not like that lol

Thank ya'll!! FH and I don't want to waste money. Every bit we don't spend in our budget that's leftover is going towards honeymoon.

I would, for sure. Both of those are great options and hopefully will keep your costs to a minimum. Any kind of homemade or personal touch is more than enough. Smiley smile

I love giving people things, so I want to give out a million favors, too. It makes me happy to give people things, more than when I get things.

If you do decide to give out multiple things, just do a little favor bag that everyone can take home (don't put fish hooks in the bags for kiddos though...).

However, I will say that my friends wedding recently, they had 100 boxes of krispy kreme doughnuts as favors, and they had 80 left over (we took like ten boxes home ourselves and they were already stale the next morning, so we threw them all out). So, if you're like me and you LOVE giving things out, I think there are two rules:

#1 Give out something that if you're left with 80 of them, you can use it. I'd be fine with 80 bottles of strawberry wine myself...

#2 Don't spend the money if you don't have it; as long as you are providing great food and alcohol a favor is a nice touch, but not necessary. I'm still doing them because I looooove to give things lol.

Skip it or go with the wine/jam. Unless your entire guest list consists of bookworms who also happen to be avid fishers, you're wasting time and money.

Maybe you can find a way to incorporate the bookmarks into the centerpieces or some other decor. Love the concept of creating your own btw!

I think favors get left or thrown out and going overkill is kind of a waste of time and money.

Im doing 3 different favors but i am not making one for each person. I am doing a small amount of each so that i wont have alot left! I am doing coozies, smores, and candy apples. And i ordered wayyy to many coozies, but in our family they will be used regularly.
