So I went wedding dress shopping for the first time Saturday, and when I put the 3rd dress on I got “the feels”. My MOH and consultant didn’t even want me to try on anymore bc they said that that one was the one, and I agree! But I still went home to think it over. Could I have possibly found “the one” on the 3rd dress tried on ? How many dresses did you try on before you found the one ?
Technically it was my 7th dress, but I had looking at it online for months and knew it was the one. Tried it on last just to give the other dresses a chance. When I tried on the dream dress I knew nothing would ever be better.
The first dress I tried on turned out to be the one. I did however try on several other dresses, but once I couldn't get that first dress out of my mind and was comparing it to every other dress, I just got it!
I went to 5 or 6 different places, tried on a bunch of dresses at each one, I'm thinking about 6-7 dresses each time. I felt in my heart, the most beautiful dresses on me were ball gown but the dress I got is a mermaid dress, it shows off my curves, the details are to die for and the train... I stared at this dress for hours and days. That's when I knew I was getting married in it. I fell in love, lol I still stare at it.
I tried it on 2nd but tried on about 10 more after just to be sure because I'm indecisive. First dress - Mom's favorite on the hanger; Second dress - My favorite on the hanger; The rest - Just for kicks and giggles in the end lol
I tried on 3 dresses and thought I found the one. Than I went back and tried two more and on the third one I found the one. So a total of 6 dresses. I really think it was important to go home and think about the dress and then come back because if I had thought about the dress all night I knew I had to go back to get it.
I think I tried on at least 20 dresses (and looked at SO MANY online) before I found the "one". I was beginning to think that there was no "one" dress for me and that I would have to settle for something that I liked, but didn't love. After a lot of searching, I finally found the dress and nothing else compared to it! I absolutely love it...it's a dream dress
I tried on dresses before I selected my venue or really had a clear picture... My dress was number 7 or 8 of the 20 I tried on. I couldn't get it and one other out of my head so I went back to try them on this past weekend and felt so beautiful, soft, romantic, confident... I didn't have any more doubts.
I think I tried on 4 different silhouettes before I decided which looked best on me. I didn't have a "dream" dress in mind. Once the silhouette was decided upon. I tried on 3 dresses and still didn't get "that feeling", until my attendant showed me a dress. Actually I only saw the back of the dress and I knew it had to be the "one". I was right! I loved it! I chose to an Adrianna Papell Platinum design. I still get excited when I see a picture of it. I suggest to be open minded about different styles, take into account the time if year, and take the people who will be sincere but tactful about how you look in one of the most special dresses you will wear in your life. Good luck Brides💗
It's very possible. The dress I bought was the one I wanted from a picture when I walked into the store. I didn't try it on until last 1. Bc the consultant was terrible and didn't bring me any of the dresses I asked for in the first round of dresses she brought me and 2. Once I did get the dress I loved, I saved it for last to force myself to try the others first and give then a real chance to see if they were better.
So I knew going into the store what dress I ended up with.
You definitely can, especially with an awesome consultant that knows what they are doing!
Mine was about 6 to 8 dresses in. First few were finding out my shape I liked, then the details. I had two to choose from in the final; a slip dress (the actually only one they had in store much to my disappointment, it was a large store), and an A line with corset that I loved but wished it was a slip style. I switched between those two a little and then my consultant asked what was my biggest deal breaker between them. I told her the inside on the solid fabric (it had a lace overlay) wasn't slip style (more form fitting). She said very happily that I could get the fabric altered for exactly what I wanted and clipped it so and had me come out with it that way and I absolutely fell in love. I'll attach the model pics on here. The white underlay will be altered to be more form fitting down the legs like a slip dress and a bit shorter than the lace overlay. Love it!
When shopping for my dress I did some window shopping at 3 of my local boutiques to see what styles I liked and to gauge prices. Ultimately I ended up at David's one Saturday and tried about 7 on by myself- including my One.
After that day I narrowed it down to 3 to try on again at my actual appointment this past weekend. I told everyone that I've tried them on previously and wanted their feedback. But secretly I hadn't been able to get my dress out of my head from the previous day. My One was the second and everyone agreed that this was it!
May 13th can't get here soon enough so I can see my dress again!
I can't even te you how many dresses I tried on before I actually found "the one". I had three dress appointments, all consisted of probably 20-30 dresses each time.
But after I found my dress, I tried on another one because I just loved it so much on the hangwr. But in the end, I went with the one that made me feel gorgeous and I cried. I cried a lot.
My mother and I go antique shopping twice a month and it just so happened this particularly large antique mall had a bridal section. I find a gorgeous antique dress with an incredibly long train, small jewels hand sewn throughout it, it was just stunning. I tried it on & it was a perfect fit, I fell in love with it & brought it home. My fiancé and I were not engaged yet, I figured he would propose to me at some point and I would need a dress lol............. A week later in the Bahamas we got engaged! I did go to several bridal shops and try on more modern dresses with my mother and MOH but none of them came close to the antique dress I bought a week before the engagement!
