How Many Petals? And Where to Order?

CountingDowntoMrs, on September 22, 2017 at 10:56 AM Posted in Planning 0 19

I am trying to figure out how many rose petals to order to line the edges of our aisle. Pics included!

Also, has anyone had some great experience with a specific company?

You should talk to your florist. Most of the time they keep the fallen petals to use for flower girls. They might have something similar.

Looks like you'll need a substantial amount of petals. Check Sam's and Costco. I know Sam's sells them because we ordered some and they were great quality.

Has anyone used fake petals...? I was looking at going that route.

Check with your venue about fake petals. Many don't allow them. Some venues don't allow any petals, real or fake.

I'm using Sam's club for fresh petals too. Google rose petal calculator. I can't remember the website, but I found a few websites that will give you an estimate based on the length of your isle and the amount of coverage.

I didn't want to have to pick up the fake flowers after the fact, so I've ordered biodegradable confetti... I suggest talking to your venue about that. I'm pretty excited about my confetti now.

My venue didn't allow fake petals, so I ordered two dozen roses and plucked them myself. I wanted more, so then I ordered three boxes from a local florist in a grocery store. You can't entirely tell, but I included a photo from my wedding.

I'm doing orange rose petals and I left it up to my florist. If you're buying fake online, I'd just get them in bulk of 1,000. It's better to have more than less. Cleaning them up isn't fun though, but I assume your venue would do that.

I just got my free samples in the mail yesterday and they look great, and they have lots of colors to choose from

I don't allow real or fake petals because they are a real pain in the ass to clean up. I can't leave dead dried up petals on the grounds for the next couple using my bridal garden. I would make an exception for the covered pavilion as that can be easily swept up.

My venue only allows fake (due to the aisle runner being expensive they use) and my DOC said depending on what I want I would need at least 10,000. Well after a ton of research I realized how expensive 10,000 petals are! I ended up going through Wish and crossing my fingers (it's hit or miss there) they are $1 per 1,000 and $1 per pack to ship. You also have to peel them apart. After two family dinners at my FH house we were able to already get them all done and I actually decided to order 8,000 more just in case. Only down fall is they smell like fish but I've sprayed the hell out of the bag they are in with frebreeze.

We are doing fake. There is no doubt they are fake, they are not real looking at all, but they were cheap. Really cheap. And our venue required fake. I ordered them from amazon. Packs of like 4,000 are just a few bucks.

ETA: I would probably order at least 20,000 for that area. And even with that it might be sparse, you would easily double or triple that
