Last night I saw a video of one of my cousins getting married and it was beautiful for the most part. It re-lit my excitement about my own wedding and now I cannot wait for the next 398 days to pass. But one thing that I couldn't understand was the AMOUNT of people in her wedding party.

She had 1 Matron of Honor (which was supposed to be my title but thats another story) 10 Maids of honor, 15 bridesmaids, 4 Jr Bridesmaids, 4 flowergirls, and other folks that I really didn't catch what the point of them being in the wedding was. And then the numbers didn't match. While she had all these women standing up there were only about 6 men.

The wedding procession was sooooooooooo long I had to wake my niece back up so she could see the fairies. It was a beautiful ceremony but it just felt like overkill IMO.

So I was curious to know how many people are in your wedding party? Is it really necessary to have everybody you've ever known standing beside you on that day?

    We're having 10, including us, 1 MOH, 1 BM, 3 BMs, and 3 GM.

That's a bit much. I wouldn't feel an ounce of being close to the bride or being special if I was one of 34 women. We're having a pretty large party: 9 bridesmaids & 9 groomsman.

We have six people total. My cousin (Matron of Honor), my other cousin/Matron's younger sister (Maid of Honor/witness to sign liscense) and FH's sister (she'll be carrying FH's ring).

Then there's FH's oldest younger brother (Best Man), FH's youngest brother (he'll sign our licsense as a witness), and my brother (carrying my ring).

We have a total of 20 people in our wedding party. As long as you got who you want I wouldn't worry about how many anyone else have or what anyone else think.
