How many people are having two wedding ceremonies?

Rachel, on June 26, 2019 at 10:57 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 5
Who is having two ceremonies? What are your reasons? How stressful has it been to plan TWO ceremonies?
We originally were only going to have one ceremony and reception in September, but due to my fathers declining health we had to plan a small, early wedding in only a few days. I got to experience the best day of my life early, with my father by my side AND I still get my dream wedding in a few months. The best of all worlds! I’m in for #DeLongHaulAsABradner

Sorry to hear about your dad. I’m glad you were able to do that and congratulations! I think it’s wonderful that you get to get married twice and your dad was apart of it. I think you made the best decision ❤️

My condolensences on your dad but it's great that you made that happen for him. We are doing a legal ceremony (pop up) in a section of an old courthouse building with my FH 2 boys- just the 4 of us. I'm wearing a more conservative simple dress with bouquet. We will do a little family sand ceremony. Then we will go to a nice lunch and take the kids on a helicopter ride around the city. The next day we leave for Jamaica for an adults only destination wedding. Only some will know that we were already married before the big event. We didnt want to complication of being married outside of the country and needed some way to include the kids in the wedding since they wouldn't be able to go to Jamaica.

We're doing a reception 3 weeks before our actual wedding in Jamaica. At the reception we're jumping the broom which is a marriage ceremony. It has been stressful planning 2 events but fun as well. I'm wearing a wedding dress for the reception but not my actual dream wedding dress, that's for Jamaica. The reception is allowing me to put more of a personal stamp on it whereas the DW is pretty much chosen for you, as far as details. I'm excited and nervous.....

FH and I are from 2 different states. Both have grandmothers who can't travel easily. Current plan is wedding in September of 2020 in my home town followed by honeymoon. In the spring of 2021 we'll do a wedding reception for his family. Both of us dressed up again and looking sharp as before but with added pictures from our wedding.

My condolences about your dad, but the ceremony sounds very special.
We are doing a very small fast Catholic ceremony on Thursday morning w/ just our parents & 2x witnesses, and then the bigger ceremony & reception will be that Saturday.
