How many outfits is too many for engagement pictures?

We have our pictures tomorrow and we have three outfits planned-1 cute casual, 1 dressy, 1 comfy. Is 3 outfits overkill?

    1. 2 tops. No need for more.

It never occurred to me to bring more than 1 outfit. Seems like changing would be kind of a hassle.

Check with your photographer and ask if the time taken to change clothes is part of the E session time. For me it is so if my couples want to spend their time changing outfits as part if their packages, so be it!

I think 1 layered outfit is plenty. Take off the jacket or wrap and you have 2 outfits. All the pics will be perfectly coordinated then too and no down time for a wardrobe change.

We did 3 outfits and it was great! Our first one was formal, second one was casual and our third one was a cute beach outfit.

If you have to cut one I'd cut the comfy outfit

I think 2 is normal. I'm debating on 1 or 2. I think 3 may be too much. I would ask your photographer.

I think that's a bit too many. We only did one but kinda wish I did two!

We did two. Dressy and nice casual. One was me in a nice dress and him in dress pants and dress shirt. One was me in skinny jeans and a nice top and him in blue jeans and a polo type shirt. We had two hours for pics.

We just did one since we only had an hour and didn't want to waste time changing, but I would have liked to do 2. I think 3 is maybe overkill, but if you've got the time then go for it!

We only did 1 outfit. You have to factor in time to change, and fix your hair and makeup and everything too. Which could add to the cost

We're doing 2.5...one dressy outfit, and then a causal outfit. But I'm layering, so I can easily change it up.

We didn't really have a time limit exactly, but we were working with sunset time also. We each had two outfits, but we just changed shirts, not pants or anything! I changed in the car on the way to our last location lol! Two outfits felt right, and our shoot ended up being around 2.5 hours with drive time between 3 locations!

Did a dressy green dress, then threw a jean jacket (since those are back in!) over it and changed my shoes. Our photo location was pretty urban, so there wasn't any place to change. We'll get them back soon, I hope it looks okay.

Prior to this I was ripping through my closet, wailing that I had nothing to wear. Brought an ikea bag full of outfits...used literally none of them. Think about it before you commit to bringing 3 outfits.

Don't forget about where you will need to change. I literally did a parking lot outfit change...I got a lot of weird looks (busy area) and don't worry, I was covered at all times. It was just a hassle.

I was thinking 2, but like everyone said - I didn't want to waste our hour changing, so we ended up just using 1!

Definitely check with your photographer but I don't think 3 is overkill.. probably because I had like 4 or 5? Not completely different outfits but I changed accessories or jackets and made a new outfit. But we also spent all day with our photographers. Two friends of ours are professionals so they gifted us our e-pics. We drove to Yosemite (2 hours away) and probably spent a total of 8-10 hours together. Obviously that's not how most people do them.

We did 3. But we spent a good 3 hours with our photographer and he encouraged it so why not. As others have said, get your photographers opinion. They really do know best.
