How Many No Shows Did You Have?

For those who have already held their wedding and reception, approximately how many people RSVP-ed "yes" and how many no shows did you have? My friend told me she had about 70 people rsvp yes, only to have 52 show up. That's a 25% no show rate!

76 RSVP'd yes; 0 no-shows. In fact, we were lucky in that there were no emergencies or last-minute cancellations, either. I was very touched that a couple of guests had even taken red-eye flights home from Las Vegas and Seattle, in order to make the wedding that afternoon.

We didn't have any no-shows but did have about 6 last minute cancellations/flakes who kept avoiding our calls to confirm their RSVPs.

Zero. We had two people have a medical emergency the same week, but everyone who we thought was coming came.

134 RSVPd yes. 3 no shows, one got into a small accident on his way to the airport to come to our wedding (he's ok). The other 2 had car trouble.

We paid for 112 guests. 3 no shows (technically 5, but 2 cancelled last minute because they were very ill) so a total of 107 attended. The other 3 one had a "sick kid" (bullshit, she makes up excuses all the time and no shows for a lot of events) but at least her husband was there so oh well. The other two were plus ones of groomsmen. Still pretty pissed but what can you do?

I dunno if I'd call it a no show but we had two cancel last minute. The H was in the hospital with a kidney infection.

It depends on what counts as a no show.

We had 3 true no-shows, as in they didn't say a word and just weren't there. One was a former coworker who was just straight up thoughtless. The other two are a couple that I was originally pissed at but later found out one of them was seriously struggling with addiction and his husband was actively caring for him at the time of the wedding. He entered inpatient treatment shortly after.

In addition to that, we also had 3 last-minute cancellations. One had a sick pet and the others are a couple where the husband's father had a stroke the night before the wedding.

So all told we started off with a count of 113 and had 6 who didn't come.

Out of about 177 true guests (not vendors) we had 4 cancel the week before and I think 2 no show.

We had 8 no show's. 2 told us in advance (too late to discount them from our numbers), 1 we heard wasn't coming via her sister, and 5 no call/no show. And 1 additional person added 2 days before. But without them we had 145 people so it was fine. 2 of the no show's were dates so I can't hold it against them but 1 was an H of one of our friends...she never mentioned why he didn't come...still thinking about that one. 2 of the no show's I'm actually pissed about and haven't heard anything from them soooo...dead to me. Jkish.

We invited 120, had 97 RSVP yes (with 2 very last minute additions) and had 92 actually show up, so 5 no shows. No one called to tell us they weren't coming and still haven't said anything.

156 RSVP yes and so far 3 have told me that can't make it.

This post is strangely making me feel better. Good to know this is common!

Ewe! I would be livid with a 25% no show rate. That is just plain rude, weddings are big $$ in this day and age. I hope and pray I do not have to deal with that, but at the same time....with social media, there is no reason. I will bother those that haven't RSVP'd 10 days prior and then I plan on putting out a post the week before to all the people invited stating that I cannot wait to see them, giving them the opportunity to back out before final number.

I was really concerned about this too! We didn't have any "No call, No Shows" but I did have almost 10 people call the week of the wedding to change their RSVPs to no. Too bad it was after my final payment was due. I was able to remove their place settings, so we didn't have empty chairs.

11 out of 186 no showed. One or two were caught in a hurricane, one had a death in the family (may or may not be true), the rest were just rude AF. Most of them were people I didn't want to invite anyway (Dad's cousins and DH's friend he's not close to anymore.) I feel justified about that now. Good thing we know that now for my brother's future wedding.
