How many kegs?

Tracy, on September 29, 2017 at 12:48 PM Posted in Planning 0 5

I am trying to figure out how many kegs of beer we should set aside. I know this largely depends on our guests, but I would like to get an average. So how many kegs did you all go through for how many guests? Thanks everyone!

I think bottles would be better than a keg for a wedding honestly. But if you want to use that I would inquire about what your bartending service suggests

also a drink calculator will help you.

We will be doing kegs for sure, but thank you for the suggestion. Most of the weddings around where I am tend to use kegs.

They say 2 drinks per person for cocktail hour and then 1 drink per person per hour after that.

When my cousin got married we floated 4 kegs before the end of the night and wished we had another! It was probably a good that we didn't though. I know they invited 120some guests but I don't know how many were actually there.

ETA: Irish family full of big drinkers, I don't think most crowds will consume quite so much beer. There was liquor and wine offered too but I didn't notice anyone drinking it.

As of now, we are just offering beer. There will be a cash bar for anything else people may need/want. I know cash bars are not popular here, but in my area, almost every wedding I go to has been beer for free with maybe one or two signature drinks (or none) and cash bar for the rest. Thanks everyone for your help!
