How many invitations got lost in the mail?

I've talked to a few families that claim their invitations never arrived. I know the addresses were right, but they must have have gotten lost in the mail. Out of 65 invitations, at least 2 completely disappeared in transit and were never even returned to sender. I guess the point of my post is...

I guess the point of my post is two-fold:

1) To find out what ratio of disappearing invitations everyone else had.

2) To serve as a PSA that sometimes invitations get lost, so always follow up with your invited guests.

I got one rsvp returned. Not sure if any got lost. Sending out my invites in a couple weeks and will know in a couple months if any got lost. I need to remember to# my rsvp cards for when they come back not filled out.

I send mail all the time and quite a few of them do get lost. Or just misplaced and take a lot longer than it should. It happens quite often (as I worked in a post office and saw the lack of organization). Please be sure to check with your guests!

So far, we know of 2 STDs that didn't make it out of about 170ish. We haven't followed up with many people though, we just know because one is a BM and the other was my mom so they knew other people were getting them and they hadn't.

We didn't have any STDs returned or lost. Only 1 shower invite was returned.

One has been completely lost. The guest lives in Chicago and she's been having issues with her mail delivery since she moved in - she's tried contacting the post office numerous times about the issue, but it has yet to be resolved. We think it may be due to her apartment building. She received the STD without a problem back in October. The issues began around the holidays (with things like bills and magazines too, not just the things we've been sending her). We sent her a Christmas card before Christmas and it was returned to us the last week in February... I work in a law firm and we get returned mail all the time...it NEVER takes this long to RTS for our office, so I don't know what happened. The bachelorette party invite was sent to her and my MOH had it returned 6 weeks later as "undeliverable as addressed." The same thing happened with the RD invite. The wedding invite went out almost 8 weeks ago and she STILL hasn't gotten it and it STILL has not been returned to us. I'm counting it as a loss... Her bf is a groomsman and I've made it very clear that she's invited. She's frustrated by the whole thing. Be aware that issues with mail DO happen! As far as I know, her invite is the only one that is "lost." This seems like a genuine issue with the post office and not an error on our part.
