I'm from a very big family and so is my fiance.I have 8 yes 8 brothers and sisters and my fiance have 7 brothers and sisters.I don't want to hurt anyone feels by picking one person and not the other.I have been saying yes to everyone so now I have 12 yes 12 bridesmaids.I would like to go down to eight but everyone seem so excited to be apart of our wedding day that I do not want to hurt their feels. I'm having 12 bridesmaids, 2 flower girls, and 3 jr bridesmaids. I feel like a kid in the back room that just want to tell everyone NOOOOOOOO THIS IS MY WEDDING AND I DON'T CARE HOW YOU FEEL BUT YOU,YOU AND YES YOU ARE OUT. AND IF IT PISSES YOU OFF THAT YOU DON'T COME TO THE WEDDING THAN THAT'S ONE LESS MOUTH I HAVE TO FEED. But I can't do that.Wish I could but I can't they are too into this wedding to let them down.

Small wedding party here. just MY MOH who's my sister, our kids as bm, my escort, and ring bearer and fg and her brother will have some duties but not sure what totally. What kills me is that I got to outfit over 1/2 of the bridal party. Luck my FS decided on slacks, button downs and clan ties plus a vest for him. That means we have less to pay for for the boys.

I had 3 and wished I had just made it 2!

You do what you have to do to be happy. You don't get to do it over for this marriage--unless you're doing a vow renewal.

Antonette- If you need an excuse you can always say that you want to stick as close to "Rule of thumb" as possible, which I read somewhere is 1 Bridesmaid for every 50 guests. And maybe you should have some important duties (that match their skills) for the people who dont make the cut. I had 3 GREAT friends and 3 future sisters-in-law that didnt make the cut so they each got one of the following jobs: **Help with paper stuff (STD's, invites, programs) **Help with flowers (choosing, designing center pieces, and day of floral coordinating) **Plan my bachelorette party, **Sing during the ceremony, **Do a reading in the ceremony, and **Be my "lady in waiting" (basically my day-of coordinator, family wrangler for photos, vendor liason, in charge of the timeline for the day and the person in charge of making sure I always have a drink in my hand)

We have 4 bm's and 4 groomsmen. then a flower girl and a ring bearer. girl, your new here so heres a little advice: figure out what you want, and DO NOT let anyone talk you out of what you want! stand firm. remember this is your wedding, not theirs. youve still got a ways to go so let everyone know now that this is YOUR thing! itll help alleviate future stresses. lol
