How many hours is your wedding?

Hi everyone, Just wondering what's the average time span for a wedding. Our venue gives a 5 hour block, including ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception (everything is in the same location). I'm just a little nervous that everything during the reception will feel rushed!

6:30 - 11:00 (4.5 hours?) but the venue is easily extendable for later. It's only our families really and I didn't want to keep the parents up too late. If I had more guests I'd factor in more time for people to get settled/mingle/dance etc.

My wedding will last 7 hours. The ceremony is an hour (10:30am). It's a full catholic mass. And the reception ends at 5:30pm. Our venue is only 20 minutes from the church.

My ceremony starts at 430 but my cocktail hour doesn't start until 6 and the reception ends at 1130pm.

But I'm also getting married at a church that's 15 mins away and doing a receiving line that will take 20 mins probably.

This is what our timeline is looking like (5.5 hrs). Note that our reception is only a 5 minute walk fro the ceremony & we will be doing a 1st look/WP pics, FH's family pic & a quick rehearsal before the ceremony.

    4:30 ceremony

5:15 cocktail hour while my family pics are done & a few sunset pics for just us, as a couple

    6:30 dinner

    7:15 cake cutting, dances

9:00 pizza & shoe game, followed by more dancing

9:45 last call (4hr bev pkg with 1/2hr closed bar during dinner)

ETA As long as we have 2-3 hours of dance time, I think that's good. We are both a bit older & really are not looking for our wedding reception to go til midnight. Plus we have a 4 hr drive to Chicago the follow day to leave on our honeymoon.

5 hours for ceremony and reception. It was plenty of time. We were able to get in the bridal suite at 3.

Ours is 7 hours with two locations.. start at 4 end at midnight.. I dont think 5 hours is super duper short, but I can see why you may be a little nervous about it!

5 hours. But our wedding is VERY simple. Ceremony at our church, cocktail hour, dinner at a restraunt. It might not even last 5 hours, haha.

Ours gave us 6 hours total (5.5 hours open bar), so we added on an extra half hour for open bar (only $5 per person for 30 minutes more) and another extra half hour for cocktail "hour" (they originally told us everyone would go straight from the ceremony to the reception. But I told them our decorators need time to move stuff over to the reception since we are repurposing the decorations!)

So ended up with 7 hours total

    3:30-4:00 Ceremony

    4:00-4:30 Cocktail (Half) Hour

    4:30-10:30 Reception

Almost all photos will be done before ceremony. Reception will begin with cake cutting & first dance before dinner comes (Which I think is weird, but that's how the venue does it, I guess, which is fine since 4:30 is a bit early for dinner anyway).

And then they have a bar downstairs if anyone wants to party on after 10:30pm

5 hours?? I would have gone CRAZY had that been our limit. My husband and I, along with our family/friends love to party & dance.

Our entire wedding was 4pm-2am (so 10 hours?? Got dang..it didn't feel that long! lol)

    Ceremony 4pm-4:30pm

    Cocktail Hour: 5pm-6pm

    Dinner: 6:00pm-7:00pm

    Toasts/Dances: 7:30pm-8pm

    Dance: 8pm - 2am

5.5 for us. 6pm ceremony, 630-730 cocktail hour, and 730-1130 reception. We will go to a bar next to our hotel for an after party
