How many hours before your ceremony was your hair and makeup finished?

As, on February 27, 2024 at 1:09 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 3
Our photographer sent over our timeline for the day and according to the timeline, I will have my hair and makeup completely finished by 12:00PM. Our ceremony is at 5:30PM. Is this pretty normal? Worried about makeup/hair not lasting, but I know professionals are able to work their magic and I also have the option of having the makeup artist stick around for touch ups. Side note, we’re having all of our pictures and first look taken before the ceremony. Appreciate anyone who can share their experience!

What time is your first look at? I think that timeline sounds typical. My hair and makeup were done by noon, my first look was at 2pm, then pictures immediately after that, and then the ceremony started at 4:30pm. My hair and makeup still held up through the ceremony and into the reception.

Our first look is at 2:30PM - we are getting hair and makeup at a hotel (not allowed at venue) then I’m getting into my dress in the bridal suite at the venue. Between 12:00-2:30 is hotel pictures with bridesmaids, travel to hotel, getting dressed, father/daughter first look and bride portraits. Glad to hear it’s a similar timeline to someone else!

That sounds early to me, but it is their job to make sure it will last. We finished hair at noon and rolled into pictures at 12:30, ceremony at two. (No first look.) I’d just ask your stylist if it needs to be so early and give your concerns about everything lasting.
