How many dresses tried on before finding the one

I am not consumed with worry yet, but I am starting to get a tad bit nervous. Timeline says that I should have one picked out/ordered by 1 year to 9 months before the wedding day. I have only tried on 6 dresses and I am not liking any of them so far! It doesn't help that I am an older first time...

I am not consumed with worry yet, but I am starting to get a tad bit nervous. Timeline says that I should have one picked out/ordered by 1 year to 9 months before the wedding day. I have only tried on 6 dresses and I am not liking any of them so far! It doesn't help that I am an older first time bride and feel old in the lace styles, as beautiful as they are, I am thinking just go simple. Just curious how many dresses everyone tried before saying yes to the dress. I'm starting to hate the bridal shop I've gone into (all their styles are so gaudy - in fact, I never realized how ugly wedding gowns can be) - The search continues ...

    I tried on about 20 at two different stores on the same day (about 10 each). I chose the 19th one, but it was between the 10th and the 19th (last and the second to last since I'm guessing on numbers here). I went into the first store knowing what dress I wanted since I had been staring at this dress for 3 months. They pulled it for me, but had me try on a bunch that had similar things to see if it was REALLY what I wanted and saved it for last. I knew it was going to be THE ONE as soon as I put it on. I immediately smiled big and was excited.

    Unfortunately, my sister/MOH slept in and missed that whole appointment except for that dress so I kept my second appointment so I could go with her. Then they pulled out the second to last dress and I knew I was screwed. I stood there for one whole hour in that dress, after having already been there an hour, and just could not decide between the two. Finally I decided to go with that one over the one I had been drooling over because it fit with my venue more than the other and I loved them both the same. I'm happy with my decision and I cannot wait until she comes in!

    I tried on 4 dresses. The first dress I tried on was the dress I chose.

    I think I tried on anywhere between 15-20 and the second to last dress was the one I chose.
