How many dresses per appt?

Nisha, on May 25, 2021 at 7:55 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9
How many dresses were you allowed to try on per session? And how many hours were the sessions? I think I know what style I want, but I don't wanna waste too much time trying on different variations of the same look. I know it's all different at different salons, but about how many?

I went to many different boutiques and they never limited the number of dresses. And I was usually done before my appointment was over because I was pretty picky.

So I'm planning on doing a 2 hour private appointment with mimosas on a Sunday. It's like $100 and you get 10% off accessories that appointment. So I'm getting that 2 hours should be plenty?

As you yourself said, it varies from one boutique to the next. I attended 3 boutiques, at the first I was allowed to choose 5 dresses but ended up trying on about 8 or 9 dresses, the second boutique only allowed 3 and said I’d need to make an appointment for a later date if I wanted to try on more, and the third (where I got my dress) told me I could choose as many as I could fit in an hour. I picked 5 but the appointment ended up running for 2 hours anyway. The best approach is to call the boutiques you’re looking at and ask what their policy is.

Two of the place I went to had 1.5 hour time slots. You can typically try on as many dress as you want in that time frame.

I went to kleinfeld In NYC. It was a 90 minute appointment. Normally it’s 6 dresses but I tried on 7.

I just looked at the photos my sister took on the day I went and I tried on about 5 in an hour at the first place, but that included taking off and putting on the same dress more than once.

At the second place I tried on about 8 in an hour.

It does depend what type of dress you're picking as to how many you might want to try - because overall they're exhausting to get in and out of, haha!

Also, you do reach saturation point where they all start to look reasonable and you get a bit disheartened. I personally thought an hour or just over was probably enough at each place, because then we could go away and have lunch and look through the photos and talk openly about what we liked and didn't like. I ended up booking a second appointment with the first shop for later in the afternoon which is when I bought my dress, and I felt like I really needed that time to make the decision over lunch.

I went to 3 places - 2 were 90 minute appointments, the other was 60 minutes. There was no limit to the number to try on. I found at all 3 that the time was sufficient for me (and one i actually didn't stay the whole time). Can always make another appointment if need be though! They are quick getting you in and out of things if you're not feeling a certain dress. The consultants also get a feel for what you like pretty fast. And none of the consultants I had were pushy about styles i didn't want or anything like that.
