How many different items does your buffet package have?

LanaKane, on July 10, 2017 at 6:17 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

I'm looking for the number of appetizers, salads, meats and sides you're having with your wedding buffet package. Thanks! ***Updated on mobile to include the word "package" after buffet since i didn't make it clear the appetizers would be passed during the cocktail hour and not part of the actual buffet.***

Apps shouldn't be on the buffet; they should be served.

Our buffets typically had three entrees (one veg) two or three sides. Salad and bread served at the tables.

Were doing 3 passed apps, and then a seated salad, a meat carving station and a pasta station with different sauces (pesto, marinara) as well as meatballs, grilled chicken and then a big plate of grilled veggies, with bread

I believe we had 2 entrees (a steak and a chicken), 3 sides (veggies, potatoes and mac & cheese), salad and bread.

The cheapest option the venue had! Haha! I'm just trying to feed people within my budget since I have a huge guest list.

It has one pork, one chicken, one fish option, rice, sushi, potato salad, tossed salad, fruit salad, and sheet cake flavor of our choice (saves me from getting wedding cake). Plus non-alcoholic beverages.

If food is what people remember the most from a wedding then I'm SOL because I'm sure it's basic buffet items.

Malei? Inviting a huge guest list and feeding them a cheaply as possible? With no alcohol?

You have time to rethink this and you really should...

For our breakfast buffet, we are doing - eggs, bacon, sausage, country potatoes, lox/bagels/cream cheese, fruit platter and waffles with syrup/whipped cream/fruit toppings. (oh and pastries for the cocktail hour)

@Celia Oh there will be alcohol. And lots of it. This is why I chose this venue. They allow me to bring in my own alcohol with no corkage fee and I just provide my own bartender. I work at a restaurant for my part time job so I'm asking someone licensed. I was debating adding on a top sirloin action station for $3 more per person, if that makes me look better??

ETA: Sorry the non-alcoholic beverages are what's covered in the cost of food (which also includes venue, setup and breakdown, table with tablecloths, chairs, and staff to clear plates)

For dinner we had 3 entrees, 2 sides, salad and bread.

We just did 2 apps since our cocktail hour was pretty short and we went straight into dinner afterward.

We have a big fruit and cheese platter and bruschetta for stationary apps available before the ceremony. Dinner is immediately following the ceremony and it has 2 entrees, 3 sides, salad, and bread. There is a veggie entree available upon request. Then we have cake.

@Malai, ours is all tasty, quality-food but it's basic buffet stuff: steak tips, chicken, rice, potatoes, veggies. They have nice seasonings and sauces. I decided not to worry about fancier food. It's not going to be the most memorable meal of their lives, but IMO that's what restaurants are for. If the food is the most memorable part of a wedding, I feel like that says the rest of the event was lacking.
