How many candles are you putting around your centerpiece?

Jeanette, on May 21, 2017 at 11:55 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

So I'm not getting pin spot lighting for $600 so now it's just candles. We have 60 inch tables so I'm wondering how many candles to put around it? 3,4, or 5? What is everyone else doing? Also he's recommending 10 people to a table. Is that tight?

FYI I am using votive candles and they have to be in a cylinder glass 3 inches above the flame.

Can you post an inspiration pic? It's hard to tell what you're trying to accomplish here.

I guess this but I'm trying to get away with 3 candles. Is that not enough?

Is the above photo what your centerpieces will look like? Are those votives the height yours will be? With a centerpiece that big I think 3 would be fine, especially if you will have so many people at the table since you'll need room for all their glasses and plates

10 people will be tight. We have 66' for 8-10 people. I've also attached our mock centerpiece with candles. Smiley smile I think it will depend on how wide your centerpiece is.

    60" tables = 8 guests, 72" = 10 guests.

We went with the pin-spots and didn't do candles.

When we passed a basket of rolls, during the banquet at our senior prom, the napkin of the roll basket touched a candle and went up in flames. A bunch of screaming and tossing of water glasses put it out.

I would do 5 votives. Ten people will be a squeeze on a 60 inch round.

We're doing 3 votives around each centerpiece but our tables are only 6 person tables (48'' I think?). My dad and aunt had strong words for me when I said I would be doing 4 because "you should always have an even amount; it's more pleasing" lol they both do flower arrangements so I trusted them and cut it down to 3

3 votives will definitely be enough to surround a centerpiece, especially if you are going to squeeze 10 people at a 60" table. I strongly suggest you reconsider that and do 8, or 10 at a 72" table.

We also have 60 inch rounds. We are planning on seating 8 per table, having a "tall" centerpiece, and 3 votive candles for each as well. When I set up the mock table, it seemed to be enough for the effect I'm going for. Smiley smile
