How many Bridesmaids is TOO MANY

@Lauren she mentioned earlier in the thread that she just had picked who she wanted, but not actually asked anyone yet. so no one is advising her to 'kick out bridesmaids' 'just because', just suggesting that she will really cut down on the stress if she cuts the list a bit before she actually asks.

I think if you want 9 you should have 9. I'm having a big bridal party too because i don't want to cut the important people out. its your wedding day not anyone else's!!

We each have 9 BM and GM and yes it adds up but I wouldn't have it any other way but we are also having around 250 guests. If it was only around 100 guests then I would have to trim it down.

If you've already asked them, which it sounds like you have, there is no way to cut down on your numbers of BMs without most likely ruining a friendship. This is why you shouldn't ask this far out.

I think if you want 9 bridesmaids then you should have 9! I was just a bridesmaid in a wedding of 8 bridesmaids and it worked out fine and we all had a blast!

9 is way too many! i personally am cutting out the entire idea of a bridal party. this way im not stressing on who to pick or not pick. less drama. save money! lol good luck

I'm having 9 and am a little embarrassed about it. But my fiance and I collectively have 4 sisters and then I just have really good friends from different parts of my life and I wanted to include them all.

I haven't experienced any drama at all - everyone is happy to be a part and its been a lot of fun so far.

It's your wedding, your decision. We had 8 bridesmaids and 10 groomsmen and a guest list of 300 and seriously had such a blast with everyone. It looked perfect at our venue and I wouldn't have had it any other way. Please have who you want. It's YOUR day and you will only regret it if you cut someone you really wanted to stand with you.
