How many bridesmaids is too many?

There are roughly 160 people invited to our wedding. I really want 7 bridesmaids, is that too many?

I have 7 on each side as well with about a 200 guest wedding. So far everything has gone smoothly with having a fairly large bridal party!

I had 4, I would say 3-4 is a good number but the choice is up to you. GL!

More stress, more $$$ for gifts, rehearsal dinner including plus ones, hair & make-up (if you decide you want them to have it), bouquets, etc.

We had a MOH & BM -- no stress at all.

I'm in two weddings with 8 on both sides... So, large wedding parties happen. We're having 6- I'll warn you though, it gets expensive. I'm spending roughly $600 on gifts for them alone.

I'm having 5 on each side. I felt like that was a good number, as we could have went larger, but we also wanted some people there in the seats as well, rather then all up next to us. I wanted to keep it smaller, that way I can have my closest friends, and I can spend more on each of them, rather than having a larger party and not being able to purchase nice things for them. My Fiance's brother is getting married a month before ours and his fiance is planning on having 10 on each side. I just feel like it's difficult to plan and get everyone on the same schedule with that many people.

I had 8 with a guest count of 300. It was perfect for us. I couldn't imagine my day without any of those girls by my side. I loved my bridal party.

How large is your venue? Some spaces cannot physically hold 7 people on each side. The other option is to have them just sit in the first or second row and not stand with you, but I feel like that defeats the purpose.

I don't think any amount is too many! Do it up! Like others said, more bridesmaids = more money

I might be in the minority but anything larger than 5 on each side seems excessive. Especially if it's a smaller (less than 100 guests) wedding.

The standard is 1 per 50 guests, but it's your wedding so do what you want. If you think it will look too strange, they can sit in the front row instead of stand.

I was the maid of honor of my best friends wedding, and she had 17 bridesmaids. 15 girls and 2 boys. No drama Smiley smile I am getting married and I have 12 bridesmaids, and I am actually considering asking 3 more girls. It's your wedding do what you want.
