How many bartenders?

Lady App, on May 15, 2016 at 8:54 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

How many bartenders does your venue provide? Mine is saying 1 per every 100 guests but i cant ever see that being enough. I think if were paying for an open bar for 175 people they can at least give us enough servers

You can ask for more but it will come with a cost. I'm using one. My guest count is at 150 however, only 70 drink so adding that extra cost wasn't necessary for me

If your venue says 1 for 100, are they giving you 1 or 2 for 175 guests?

I would want 2. I was surprised when I was bartender "shopping" to hear the standard is only 1 per 100. I had around 100 guests with only 1 bartender, and it was totally fine.

175 is pushing 200 though, so you should definitely have 2, IMO.

Personally, I would say 3 bartenders for 175 if you're having mixed drinks (which I'm guessing you are). I have bartended at a local bar by myself when there was over 100 ppl there and was busting my ass to keep everyone in drinks. It can be done but it definitely isn't fun. Once everyone has drinks it becomes easier and you just have rushes where people all need another at the same time but other than that it is just steady

I had a full open bar at my wedding with mixed drinks and it wasn't an issue at all.

So they will give us 2, and were paying for 2 more. Most of the guests are drinkers and I don't want anyone waiting. I'm suprised the ratio is so high!

My venue included 1 bartender, for every 50 guests. We had 225, so they would include 4. We ended up paying for 2 more, because we know how the lines get at bars, especially during cocktail hour. We cut down on the initial lines, by having 2 of the bartenders offering wine or red wine, served on trays, to our guests as they entered the cocktail hour room, from the ceremony room.

We'll have 2 for 75 people. I feel like 1 for 100 might create some line.

I agree I've been to weddings where it takes forever to get a drink. I think some venues count on that. I will definitely be keeping 4

I would want three. And at the beginning, pre poured cocktails or waiters passing drinks at the very beginning.

We had 2 for 150. It was good I think but I guess I didn't pay too much attention because I was so busy with everything else. But they always attended to the bridal party immediately when they walked up which I thought was sweet. Many Guests said they were the strongest drinks they've gotten at a wedding so I was pleased with quality.

Ours is giving us 2 bartenders and 6 servers for the day. We've got 55 people but that's the amount of people they would provide for our reception area regardless of guest amount.

For you I would recommend 2 or 3. 1 is way too little for a party of your size imho.
