We're planning 1-2 years. We'd like to travel a little bit before having babies. But that number keeps changing lol We originally said 3-4 years, but we're eager to start having kids!
We're old in reproductive terms. We're not going to be active about it but after the wedding (no calendar, ovulation test, or anything fancy)... We don't care.
We would like to be moved in to our own home before we start trying. Considering that most of our savings is going to the wedding, who knows realistically how long it will be until we can afford to buy a house. In a perfect world, a year to a 18 months I would like to start trying!!
With my first marriage we waited until we had been married for about a year and a half before having our first baby. Wanted some time to enjoy each other and tie up loose ends.
With my second marriage we adopted a "baby" (kitten) about 2 months later lol Have no plans on having mutual children until much further down the road. We wanted to get a bigger house (we did this month!) and get things completely stable.
I chose to have a baby before marriage. I've been with my fiance for 6 years. I've been with my fiance through everything. College, basic training, going on his second deployment next month, deaths, financial burdens, all the ups and downs. I wanted a baby before i was 25. And I chose to have one. We had a strong foundation Before marriage. But even with the strong foundation working on the two of you etc . Having a child has challenges no one understands. It's a preference for each individual. To me marriage is a bond between 2 people. To sign a paper. But your bonds and foundation in my eyes should start before. My daughter will be the flower at my wedding and theres nothing wrong with that. ❤

Thank you!!!! Ideally I would love to wait 1 or 2 years.
We're planning on waiting 6-8 years. I'm currently 21 and FH is 23. We currently have a 2 year old together and are both pursuing our undergraduate degrees. We have already bought our home and have purchased vehicles that we are paying off. Having children is a happy, lifechanging event but I want to be more educated before having another one.
