How long for vendor to respond?

CallmeSam, on July 18, 2017 at 1:45 AM Posted in Planning 0 9

How long does it usually take for a vendor, in my case the DJ, to answer back an email? Almost a month and a half!??? Geez

Is this normal?

I feel as if they can't be trusted.. idk.

Did you email the DJ directly? Or through WW (or similar site) or even a form on the DJ's website?

Sometimes emails get lost or go to spam, or the forms you have to fill out don't go through. If there is a number listed and you really want this DJ, pick up the phone and call.

If you send a follow up email or call and don't hear back in a few days, I would just move on to someone else if you haven't already.

I would advise you call them directly. If they don't respond within a day, move on. We as vendors will let you know right away how much we value you as a client. Best wishes!

I do within a business day, even during peak season....but how did you contact them? If through WW, a lot of the time we don't know we've been contacted. Try calling direct. But don't chase the same person down once you've made that attempt.

Did you email them once and not hear back from them, or have you tried to make contact again? I once didn't hear back from a vendor for a few weeks, and when I emailed again she forwarded me the email she had sent me - either I didn't get it, or I must have deleted it without realising what it was.

The vendor could also be experiencing problems with their emails.

I would definitely try and follow up with a call.

A month and a half is ridiculous. Have you tried calling? Did you already hire this person?

See, im a psycho.. If my vendors ignore me, I dont wait a month lol. I hit them up either daily or every other day. This is my wedding, I am hiring you and paying you to help make it perfect, I think I deserve the 2 minutes it takes to respond to me. If you havent tried calling, Id say give them a call. If you are again ignored, part ways and hire someone who gives a damn.

I did a vow renewal last weekend. Because the husband was surprising his wife, he e-mailed me from his work. Apparently, his biz has a really strong spam filter. None of my e-mails got through to him! We had to arrange everything by phone last minute.

Check your spam folder and call the vendor if you have not heard back.

I'm with Jay - I do all my e-mails and calls within 24 hours. If I'm unable to hold a long conversation, I still let them know that I will be back with them the next day (or whenever I can).

In peak season, vendors can be extremely busy. I could never imagine waiting more than a few days to get back to a client or potential client. Personally, I only hired vendors that got back to me within a day or two for my wedding.
