How far is the rehearsal dinner from church or ceremony location

I'm still having a hard time on deciding on where to host the rehearsal dinner at. I was trying to keep it close to our church but not liking the restaurants in the area. I'm thinking of looking at restaurants that are about 20 mins away. Do you think that's too far?

    Ours is 25-30 minutes from the hotel everyone is staying at. They will probably just go straight from the hotel to dinner. We likely aren't having a formal rehearsal as our venue only allows them at 10am the day before, but might swing by the venue with everyone before the dinner.

    About three blocks away. But, we will need transportation since it is December. One more thing to worry about.
