How far in advance would be a safe zone to order your wedding gown? I've heard different answers from family members.

I bought mine in July for my August 2018 wedding. I received a call from the boutique a few weeks ago that the estimated ship date was Jan 5.

Order at least 9 months before (6 months for dress to get in and 3 months for alterations)

I ordered mine in September and it should be here by February at the latest. So that gives me 3 months for alterations if needed. You should start looking about 8-12 months out for sure

I bought mine in early March. It came in June for alterations, which were done in July/August. It's been hanging in my room since then. I'll be trying it on after Christmas to make sure it still fits. If alterations need to be made, they can be done before the wedding without having to put a RUSH on them.

I've heard all different time frames for ordering but it does depend on where you buy from. I got my dress pretty early, about 21 months out. I think a year to 18 months is a good range.

I bought mine 11 months out and glad I did. It should be in soon, the designer takes 5-6 months. The longer you wait the less time you could potentially have.

I broke the rules... For a 2 year engagement, I purchased mine a year and a half out. That wasn't the plan!! But I happened to find the one while out and about and I wasn't going to leave the store without it :-) It was everything I was envisioning and more! My mom was crying, I was crying, and it fit in my budget perfectly. It was like the dress was made for me :-) but that's just my story! My original plan was to get it a little over a year out. I'd just suggest no later than about 8-9 months depending on the boutique. Good luck!!

I bought mine 10 months out and it should be in in the next week or two! So excited! Most designers take quite some time so don't wait too long. Mine will have taken 5 months to come in by the time I get it.
