How far in advance should I/ my bridesmaids plan the bachelorette?

Stephanie, on December 26, 2022 at 10:46 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 6

When is too soon to start planning your bachelorette? I'm getting married August 2023 and personally have 3 other weddings next summer. My MOH let me know she will be attending 7 weddings total next summer, including her own. A few of my bridesmaids have asked me what weekend I'm thinking/ where I want to go. They want to start the planning ASAP.

I was thinking sometime in July and to a city that is about 3-4 hours drive. It is a small mountain town, so summer places do book quickly.

I'm going to be inviting my 4 bridesmaids along with 3 other girls as well, so I'm not entirely sure of total group size. I know 2023 is going to be crazy, so is it unrealistic to book an Airbnb and start planning things 6 months in advance?

I think it’s totally fine to start planning now. This way everyone can block off your Bachelorette on their calendars. Airbnbs will be a bit cheaper and more choices will be available the sooner you book. Just be sure to clear the expenses with everyone first and get solid confirmations before you go book it. Be up front with every single person about how costs are being split, especially since it sounds like you want to invite non-bridal party members. Seeing as your bridesmaids have a lot of other weddings to go to, I might suggest being a part of the cost-sharing as well. I know the norm is that the bridesmaids cover everything so the bride doesn’t have to, but I personally felt that since my ladies were already coming together in my honor, paying for a dress, shoes, and hair for my wedding day, that it was only right that I include myself in the cost-splitting.

Start planning now! I was a MOH this year and we booked the AIRBNB for Atlanta/August 2022 in December 2021. You will want to get an idea of your bridesmaids budget, work schedules, family schedules, ect. There is a lot that goes into it and you want to make sure everyone is considered. The more notice and time you give people to save up and coordinate coverage, always the better! Good luck!!!

Thank you everyone! I took your advice and found a weekend that worked for everyone & got the Airbnb reserved! A ton of places booked since then, so I’m glad I got something secured now!

Good deal! Your bridesmaids will appreciate the time to save up and I am sure you already feel a lot of pressure off your shoulders, another thing checked off!!
