how far in advance do you send out invites?

I am sending my invites out in July for my October wedding. My venue needs a final head count 3 weeks before my wedding, which means I need an rsvp a month before my wedding (so September) to give myself a week to call people who do not send them back.

8 weeks before your wedding date.
