How far in advance do men go for tux?

Great question Miranda! Our wedding is next August. I keep telling my FH to go and look & try on... he still hasn’t done it. I suppose most guys will put it off as long as possible.

Mens wearhouse told us 3 months was plenty of time. So we went in February for our May 11th wedding. I think the men (gms and dads) had to get fitted by like mid/late april in order to have them in time.

My fh is going march 7th the day of my bridal shower for our may wedding and they said that was plenty of time

Our groomsmen are currently purchasing theirs for our December wedding. My fh will be ordering his by the end of October

You definitely don’t need longer for the groomsmen than you do for the bridesmaids. My wedding is in May and we will probably start to talk about ordering dresses in January. For men I would think 2-3 months minimum and 6 months max. Looking now for a wedding 11 months away is pretty aggressive. I’d put it on him and if he doesn’t get on it 5 months before the wedding, id bring it up.
But if he’s excited now there’s nothing wrong with going early. We’ve talked about colors and styles but it’s his choice, so actually going to be fitted im going to leave on him to decide when he wants to do it.

3 months was plenty of time, even 2 months out is fine. Bodies and weight can change a lot in a year. If you are renting they just add the pieces to their weekly order. Ours were not actually ordered until 3 weeks out and could pick them up the Monday before the wedding!

2-3 months in advance for the groom, men's wearhouse needs the dads and groomsmen and anyone else renting a suit one month prior to come in for a fitting.
