How far in advance did you book your Honeymoon???

We are starting to look at where we want to take our honeymoon (I know it's far out, but it's fun to plan!) we are thinking probably a Caribbean cruise out of Florida (We live in Cali, so we'd have to fly) and a few days at Disneyworld since we met at Disney & had our first kiss there! How far out...

How far out did you book your honeymoon?? I really have no idea when we should book it.

We booked ours right about 6 months out. There was just a certain room we wanted and wanted to make sure we got it.

I wanted to book my honeymoon in December...my fiancé wasn't cooperating and doesn't seem to understand the importance of making plans in advance, and I wanted to make the decision with him. Here we are in March and still haven't booked a destination yet. The plan was to put it on my credit card and make payments in large increments on a monthly basis, so by the time our wedding came it would be paid off. Now we're in the process of closing on a home and I don't want to utilize credit until after our closing. It'll probably be early to mid April before we make any final decisions.

We booked right at about 6 months out for a honeymoon in Quebec City. We're staying at an Airbnb and wanted to make sure we locked down a good one that was walkable from most of the sights.

We booked our trip to the Bahamas at the end of January. About 4 months ahead? We leave on May 21st. It's an all inclusive resort and we were able to book our flight and hotel all at once so it was super easy.

We booked this week for our November wedding.. Sandals had a deal for St. Patricks day so we booked to make sure we got the extra perks! The flights we want to book are with Southwest and aren't released so we will book our flights in June about 5 months out.

Booked our hotel and flights at the very end of January. So just under 10 months out. I regret not waiting a little. Our hotel went down by 500$ (from 8500) and our flights went down by 300$ a person. So 600$ total! Which is a lot! The good news is we were able to negotiate the hotel rate down (from booking.com) but the flights didn't budge since we booked through an agency - just fly.com. Sigh.

We booked ours in January so about 10 months before, we aren't going until 6 weeks after the wedding. We are going to Disney World!

Has anyone been given any information regarding the Zika Virus situation in basically all of the warm hot spots? I am trying to plan accordingly but i have found myself in a very cold Milan or on a 20 hr plane ride to New Zealand.

We just booked ours this month so about 6 months seems to be average. However, the earliest you can book flights the better we hesitated booking(three weeks) because we were unsure and the same flight jumped up in price significantly.

We booked six months prior to the wedding. Once that was taken care of it was less for us to have to think about so we could do the planning of the wedding itself. No worrys about where we will be for the Honeymoon. We were able to pay payments for a couple of months also , so that it would all be paid for and another one less detail to have to worry about.

I'm planning to book around June (a year out). We know where we want to go and I want to go ahead and start paying for it early! Plus typically the earlier you book, the cheaper it will be.

We booked 4 months out, but it was easy because we had already planned to take this trip together. Since our engagement was only 6 months long this was perfect to use at our honeymoon. I say book a year in advance and do payments on it if it works for your budget

Most airlines don't let you book over a year advance, sometimes only like 9 or 10 months out. Cruise however, you can usually book more than a year or even 2 years in advance. I would definitely subscribe to their email clubs and wait for their next deal or sale. Sometimes cruises offer free upgrades or onboard credit if they really want to fill up a boat. I know a few of the cruise companies do big Memorial Day sales. So definitely look around then!

Book as far out as possible because you will get the best deal/pricing. To protect your investment, buy travel insurance in the case of changes or cancellation : ) We had to move our destination from the Bahamas to Aruba at the last minute because of a hurricane. Our insurance (www.csatravelprotection.com) covered the cancellation and re-booking of the flights, resorts, etc.

Its too important a trip be spent in bad weather.

Our wedding is 10/15/16 and we booked our honeymoon at the beginning of March (so about 7.5 months ahead of time)! We are going to Phuket, Thailand (from Ohio), and we were able to get an excellent deal along with the shortest flights possible- so I'm happy we did it further in advance! ??
