How far in advance did you book a venue?

Many places won't take reservations more than a year out. We did ours about 16 months.

If you find a venue you really want, I would contact them and find out their policy, so you don't get scooped when reservations are available.

We booked ours about 14 months out. We want an outdoor venue in Texas, so our date options were pretty limited. I wanted to book as early as possibly so we didn't lose the date we wanted. There wasn't a whole lot scheduled for my month yet, but there was already another wedding booked for the day after mine!

16 months and our venue is booking 2019 and 2020 already but very popular places in ny get booked faster

I booked mine 6 months in advance

My place would not let me book until the 1 year mark. That was when I booked.

2 years before to the month. I think we booked around the first week of September 2015.

13 or 14 months I think

About 1 year and 3 months in advance for us. It was the first thing we did.

It depends on the venue really. I booked out 11 months in advance but I'm also off season. My venue will take up to 2 years in advance. Some venues may take longer out in advance if they are higher priority of people wanting while other may only do a year in advance. I would call venues that you are interested in and ask them what their procedures are.

15 months out.

Depends on the venue. contact them directly and find out how far out they were booking, We tried booking 14 months out, and they wouldn't let us (their calendar didn't go that far out!). We ended up finalizing our booking about 11 months out, but it is a new venue that is gaining in popularity.

I booked my venue 16 months out. We talked to them well in advance and they held the date before my deposit was paid (small town, biggest venue in small town so it wasn't hard we don't have many events there after proms are over). But officially booked 16 months out.
