How early is too early for a wedding shower?

Sheila, on May 2, 2022 at 12:56 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 3
Hello! My fiance and I moved to Florida but all of our family and friends are in Chicago.
We're inviting 200 people to our "destination " (Florida) wedding. The reason I call it destination is because it will be a travel trip for all guests.

To add a little more challenge, my sister/moh announced she's pregnant! (Yay!) Her due date is 2 months prior to my wedding. With the finances and fatigue that come with having a new baby, we are trying to figure out when to host the wedding shower. After the baby is born, she'll he busy busy busy. She'll also be limited with travel the last 2 months of her pregnancy (she lives in Nashville)
The shower is going to be in Chicago and the latest my sister can travel is close to January'/February. With the holidays and winter, I'm debating on having my wedding shower in fall September/October.
This puts the shower 7-8 months before the wedding. Is that too early?

I don't think it's too early under those circumstances!

If that's the best time for everyone then go for it! Mine is going to be about 5 months before the wedding since there's a ton of travel and scheduling issues to work around. After covid, postponing, etc. I really just want to see my family members under happy circumstances. If that bothers someone or they get in a twist about having it too early then they're welcome to stay home lol
