How early is too early?? - Bachelorette

Archer_Bride2be, on October 22, 2013 at 8:30 AM Posted in Planning 0 6

So my MOH was in town this weekend so we went and found her dress for the wedding, and we were talking about the bridal shower and bachelorette party. We were throwing around ideas about when to do them, and I really liked the idea of having both on the same day since i have 2 BM's that live 5 hours away. We were thinking of doing the bridal shower at the end of May (wedding is Aug 31) but is that too early for everything?? That way my friends from college will still be in town, but if it's too early then I'll figure out a way to get them to come back I guess. Opinions please!!

I think as long as you're engaged, you can do it anytime. Yes, it's a bit early, but if the timing works for everyone, go for it. Trust me, it's hard getting everyone together when they live far away.

Most wedding blog suggest 3 months prior to wedding is a good timetable. However, it's just a suggestion. Throwing both on the same day can be exhausting for you. You can have more than one shower. You can have a bridal shower with your BM's and a wedding shower with your family & friends. You can the do a combo party, having both the shower & bachelorette party together with just your BM. good luck

I am doing the same thing, FMIL is throwing a shower at the end of January and then that night will be the bachelorette. It's 2 months ahead of time but like you I have several girls traveling a long distance so we are going to make a 3 day weekend of it rather than try and make 2 trips.

I think it's fine to have it in May and it cuts down on traveling costs for your girls.

I did my bachelorette party in September for my May wedding. It was crazy early, but it worked best with my school schedule.

Good I'm not the only one that feels the need to have it early! It's hard trying to plan around everyone else, but it's worth it to have everyone there Smiley smile

My wedding is in November, and my bridal shower and bachelorette was in the beginning of August. Everything was done down where my family is and where I grew up, which is about 4 hours away from where I live now. My bridal party lives literally at opposite ends of New York State. Summer was really the only time for us to be able to get together and take the time to make a trip and do that, especially with myself and MOH being teachers Smiley winking
