How early did you order/pick out wedding cake? Getting nervous...

Contacting lots today, have a tasting set up already! Yay, hope it works out.

Picked ours a week after we secured our venue. My parents and I went to meet with/book our coordinator and we swung by the bakery on the way home. Our impromptu are tasting constituted most of out lunch (FH doesn't do sweets so didn't care). So about five and a half months out.

You should be fine, but since I knew who I wanted, I locked her in a year ago.

I'm about a month before you, we booked ours in March. Our baker only takes order 6 months out. So we decided on a baker over a year prior once we saw they made the groom's cake we wanted (lucky pinterest find). My dad & step mom paid for the cakes so we decided on a design in Feb. (6 months out) and they finally paid in March.
