How do we end the reception?

FutureMrsHill, on December 29, 2017 at 8:43 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 13
Hey guys! So I've lurked for awhile simply because for whatever reason it wouldn't allow me to post until now. We are getting married in April on the beach. The reception will be held at an on site beach house that we rented. After the wedding we will continue to stay at the house for a few extra days. My question is, how do we have a send off or end the reception when we aren't going anywhere? The guests will be leaving, but we won't be. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Are you having a DJ? Have him announce the last song of the night. We were actually the last ones out of our venue.

We didn't want to get a dj due to the neighboring houses. We will be having an iPod set up with a pre made playlist.

Make the last song announcement yourself.

People should begin to trickle out as the night progresses but definitely announce a last song.

Perhaps make a timeline on a chalkboard or pallet and write the “send off”. Perhaps make it a bigger deal with some sparklers and then when they all die out, thank your guests for coming.

You can announce last dance if people don't start leaving on their own. Our guests left on their end prior to a last call.

Can you do something with lighting to signify it is almost over? If you are having lights.

Everyone here has great suggestions. I plan on using the cake cutting as a way to thank everyone for coming kind of thing. Or worst case scenario, stand up and yell “ You don’t have to go home people, but you can’t stay here”. Lol

Maybe have a designated person to commence the send off. Like the maid of honor or something. And I agree the idea to show like a schedule of the events of the night ending with send off.
