When I think about my wedding day I think about how in love me and my FH will be and dancing all through the night. The more I talk to wedding people I hear how they barely get to enjoy anything and can't even eat because they are expected to communicate with every single guest. I want to dance all night and also enjoy every aspect of the reception. I feel depressed just thinking of having 150 conversations since I am a weird mix of introvert with some extrovert. It reminds me of my graduation party how i had to answer the same 3 questions 80 times when i wanted to go play volleyball with my buddies. Any advice on how to actually enjoy my day? Because obviously I can't be rude and not talk to my guests Smiley xd.

Just go to each table and day a quick hello and a thank you. And do just what you said: Enjoy your day!! Dance the night away. Do everything you want to do. The guests will understand. Not to sound rude but this day is about the two of you. You can always send thank you cards later. But you only get one wedding day.

I'm an extroverted introvert too! I'm so excited to enjoy the day but I know we'll both be exhausted by the end of it... and I, too, am really concerned with getting to enjoy myself and spend some alone time with FH.

We're doing photos beforehand and plan on enjoying cocktail hour with everyone! Hopefully that will give us the chance to visit (around 90 people) and then actually enjoy our dinners.

We are doing our photos before the ceremony, so we can mingle during cocktail hour. Then we'll do tables after we eat and dance the night away! We're determined to enjoy our evening!

People can come enjoy with you while dancing! Older people I recommend going and saying thank you. Also try and do your photos before hand if possible, if you are having a cocktail hour spend that time circulating in groups so knock out more people at once.

One of the biggest reasons why I plan to do a first look with FH is so we can get all of our pictures done together and with our bridal party and families beforehand. That way during our cocktail hour, we only have a few pictures left to do with extended family and then guests. We can mingle the rest and then continue to mingle once dinner has started.

Take the time to enjoy it! We were served our dinner first while the other tables were being called to the buffet, so we ate super quick and then did all the rounds while everyone was eating for all 100 guests.

After that was the speeches, first dances, and then the remaining 5 hours were spent on the dance floor with our wedding party/guests, or at the fire pit making s'mores/hanging out.

I just spent thousands of dollars on a glorified party with free, delicious food and all the free beer/wine/liquor our guests could dream of, I was adamant I would enjoy myself too! People said they've never seen a bride have as much fun as I did at their wedding and I'm SO glad I made sure we were going to enjoy it!

Also to add... We really went through our guest list again and cut people but really can’t go down any more than we have (170). I cannot imagine having our wedding without our immediate and extended families and our close friends from different areas of our lives but I do wish the number was less so it didn’t stress me out.

The food was super important to us, we wanted to enjoy dinner with everyone at our King's table and not rush and eat quickly, so we decided early on that we would not be doing table visits during dinner. Instead, we chose to greet guests as the entered the dining room after cocktail hour. It was a "receiving line" but it was just me and my husband, not parents or wedding party, so it moved much quicker than a typical receiving line. It worked out really well. We spoke with each guest briefly, but then got to relax and enjoy dinner without having to rush to eat.

This reminds me of the episode of The Office where Pam and Jim, on their wedding day, we’re intentional about taking mental “snapshots” of the beautiful memories in their wedding. My recommendation is to try your best to save your energy throughout the day (it seems you might be more of an introvert - introverts can absolutely love people but what makes them introverts is that at the end of the day, you have to recharge after having a lot of interaction. Extroverts are actually “charged” and get energy from being around people). Be intentional about having good conversations, but also know that many people understand that you’re busy and have a million people to talk to! They will enjoy your wedding even if you just say a quick “hi/ thanks for coming, you look great!” and maybe take a selfie.

I think I am similar- an extroverted introvert, and my husband is an adorable intro, and this is what we did.

A friend gave us the excellent advice to focus on three things you really want to go well for your wedding. For us, it was the dancing, music, and photography. We spent a lot of time with our excellent dj and photographers to make sure the party kept going and the pictures would be just want we wanted. The food wasn't a huge deal for us- of course we didn't want people to be hungry, but we didn't go overboard with it. That advice paid off huge and we are so happy with our choices.

Will you have a day of coordinator? We did, and we highly recommend it. Besides dealing with all the logistics and planning so I or the wedding party didn't have to (I am a huge control freak and our familes wanted nothing to do with planning!), we asked that she make sure my groom and I remembered to eat, drink water, use the bathroom, and breathe. She was a lifesaver.

My husband and I had a little time just to ourselves right after the ceremony, and it was so nice to just take a moment together, rest our feet, and yes, eat a bite! I even had a moment I was alone right before the first look pictures. I couldn't believe I had a moment to myself, and I just breathed and relished the moment and anticipation.

Speaking of that, my man and I decided to see each other right before the ceremony, and we're so glad we did. I was so excited but also quite nervous, and seeing him and my parents just made the anxiety dissipate. I was able to relax and enjoy the ceremony.

Don't feel like you need to have a conversation with every guest. It's not possible. Our coordinator helped us with the whole walk around and greet people thing (90 guests), and there were some people I actually sat and talked with a bit. Afterwards I felt a little guilty that we didn't connect with everyone, and then I realized no one was upset with us. It was our wedding, and they don't expect it! The dancing and partying with everyone during the second half of the wedding made us feel very close with everyone (we do like dancing), so that was enough for us and them.

It will be amazing. Have fun!!
