How did your Proposal go?

My dad and stepmom were visiting for Easter and my son's spring break, so while we were at my FH's parents for Easter dinner, we started to do pictures (which happens every holiday so I thought nothing of it) and we did one of me, my FH and my son and then one of me and my FH and that's when he got down on one knee, surrounded by our family.

We sort of got engaged by visiting our venue and deciding to book it. It’s neither our first marriages, so we had talked about it before and had picked out a date. But after that. He told me he still wanted to propose and get me a ring.


On the night of exactly one year before our wedding date, we went out to a really nice dinner and had the best seat in the house. I was thinking he was going to propose then, but dinner came and went and nothing lol When we came home and I walked through the door, there was a trail of flowers, candles and a big ‘marry me’ sign lit up at the end. He got down on one knee, I cried. It was perfect.

My fiancé and I generally do something once a month on the 12th since we started dating on March 12 2017. In December 2021 I was sick so he wrote me this cute card saying that to make up for it he wanted to take me to the Nutcracker on the 23rd (he truly hates the ballet but I'm a dancer so thought it was just a cute date). He popped the question on the front lawn of the performing arts center in the area with just the two of us like I wanted! His younger brother and sister were hiding in the bushes taking photos of the whole thing and then drove us around town taking engagement photos. Afterwards he took me to dinner where when we walked in both of our families were waiting!

Sorry ahead of time for the long reply😀😆. I know the question is " how did your SO propose" but...
I proposed to him ! But I knew he would say yes because we started talking about wedding & marriage even before we moved in together! The question was "when" rather than "if". We both knew I would most likely be the one to propose because 1) I'm not traditional when it comes to wedding, wedding-related stuff and neither is he and 2) I was ready first and wanted to get married way before LOL. Had the decision been up to me alone, I would have proposed as soon as we moved in LOL because we were ****% we would end up marrying each other but I knew he wanted us to live together for at least 2 years before one proposes.He made 3 requests when we moved in: the one who will propose won't ask the partner's parents for their permission, nor their blessings because in his book, only his and mine are needed, he also requested a private proposal so just the 2 of us, no matter who proposes. so I wanted to respect his requests.As for the proposal itself: I ordered 2 heart-shaped pizzas with "will you" written on the "#1 pizza" and "marry me?" on the "#2" , with a 20/30-second speech before I open the boxes I stole this idea on the internet because getting down on one knee has never been an option in my book and neither has petals on the floor or a romantic dinber, I wanted a more original idea.He wasn't in tears per se LOL but he got very emotional and told me the day after how he loved the way I did it and the fact I respected his wishes😍.

The day after he jokingly told my parents he would show off his diamond engagement ring as soon as I get him one 😀. All 4 parents were surprised that I proposed but they didn't really care since all of them were pretty much offbeat brides and grooms too...

This is not our first marriage we had talked about getting married he had asked me to send him pictures of three rings that I like I sent him four. 😂💍😂. The 4th was the dream ring. Anyway FedEx driver knocked at the door to deliver a package which I thought nothing of because we’re constantly getting deliveries at home. I have been sitting on the couch crying and very upset about my dad who was ill at the time. And he walked over and brought the box to me and said here I thought this would make you happy. Very uneventful according to most people standards but very sweet. My reaction was over the top and he caught the whole thing on video and I was not prepared for a proposal. So I had him put the ring in the safe and we arrange to have a more formal proposal on our anniversary which was in three weeks. At which point he got on one knee at the Beverly Hills Hilton and went into the sweetest speech about how he said he would never get married but he realized he could not, not marry me. Sweetest thing ever. 💙💍💙. Oh and he bought the 4th ring i through in for kicks but assumed he wouldn’t buy my dream ring.

Out of curiosity is your dad okay? (I know this was a while ago) but just wanted to make sure he’s doing well.

I have always wanted to go to Dollywood and my fiancé and I love having weekend getaways by getting a cabin in the mountains (we live near Shenandoah National Park). So as my Christmas present he booked us a cabin in Smoky Mountain National Park for the week of New Years. I was having THE BEST time! We spent the week exploring the area and the national park. On New Years Eve we spent the day at Dollywood, went back to the cabin when it started getting dark, made delicious food, and got all snuggled up to ring in the new year. Right after midnight, we opened some champagne, wished each other a happy new year, and he pulled a box out of his pocket. I was in SHOCK. He said "So... I have your grandmother's engagement ring." Very romantically..... I said "NO YOU DON'T." He opened the box and there was my grandmother's engagement ring. The ring I have compared all others to. What I have always considered the perfect engagement ring. I immediately started crying! My Aunt/Godmother who inherited it after my grandmother passed gave it to him to propose to me with!!! We're getting married in six months!

She says "Yes," and I bring her a diamond ring, and when I give her this ring, so she says once again, "Yes" OMG those feelings

I waited until her parents came into town, because they live far away and rarely visit. While her mom occupied her with "errands", I transformed the apartment with velvet drapery, fairy lights, lots and lots of candles... when she returned, I got on one knee and we both cried. My sister secretly filmed the whole thing!

The story takes a turn, though, because two days later she conspired with our friends to lure me to the local art museum, where SHE proposed to ME. We both had rings at the ready. Her parents were still in town, so we were able to continue the celebration with family and friends. So, we're double-engaged!

Hey Imani girl how are you guys doing. Ok so we were talking on the phone 2wks prior to the day when it happen. So kept asking questions so I answered them so this day November 12th 2020 was his birthday month. And it was raining so he said that he just woke up from a nap. So I told him I wished that could see his handsome face he said. I'm coming over there I'm just going to give it to you I said ok. So I was straightening up and cooking dinner. Went out in the hallway to put my rain boots in and then I heard someone trying to come in the door using theye keys I thought it was my upstairs neighbor. So I opened the door and it was home keys umbrella and these beautiful bouquet of red roses. He said what are you doing out here lol lol so I told him so went inside he put he wet things in the hall. Give me the flowers and i said aww baby they are beautiful 12 stem long red roses. So I went to put them in a vase he said come here so I got closer to him he said sit down. So he was kneeling on in the floor and then he started crying. I said baby what's wrong he said alittle speech to me I start crying he reach behind him and I saw the box. And he opened the box and took my hand and I asked would give him the honor and the happiest man if I would marry him. And I was in shock and then I screamed YES! YES !YES!💍🎉🎉🎉AND his birthday 🎉🎊🎉🎊was the next day
